I know you're being intentionally thick. But Devdas isn't beating anyone out here. smiley17

Devdas. As a movie it is much better,

Mohabbatein was all over place and was trolled . SRK's character was quite a butt of jokes. I am amused how people have forgotten this.

Aditya's worst film ever? Isn't that honor well and truly secured by Befikre? Or maybe this article is from before that.

Mohabbatein was released before Befikre.

Of course it was released many years before. The article headline says 'worst movie ever'. So I didn't even open it as Befikre is by far his worst movie IMO. He has directed only 4 (DDLJ, Mohabbatein, Rab Ne.., Befikre) so its quite easy to pick a best and worst ever.

The article is from 2015, I posted it because this is how Mohabbatein was received by people when it was released and it has found it's way into an article written 15 years after the film's release.

So I find it amusing to see people praising Mohabbatein.

Fair enough.

I liked some individual performances in Devdas. But the movie, especially the second half, found it difficult to sit through.

Very clever pitting the two tragic SRK/Aish movies against each other. It's a difficult choice between two classics.

Devdas is the winner though. I think this will go down as Bhansali's magnum opus (besides Black) with three stunning performances. One of the few films that won the big four awards at Filmfare along with DDLJ, KKHH, and Black. Internationally especially, Devdas is often the face of Bollywood especially because of the press tour SRK and Aish went on around the world.

But I love Mohabbatein as well. Not a Yash Chopra movie but the closest we got to seeing Aish as a Yash Chopra heroine, dancing in simple saris in Switzerland. I think people are forgetting what a revelation it was back then for Amitabh Bachchan and SRK to star alongside each other for the first time. The two greatest stars in Indian cinema finally together onscreen and for Big B, this film revived his flagging career. At the time, he said it was his favorite role ever. The newcomers, while none of them became stars, were also proficient in their roles and give it extra charm.
