Opening week TRP is 1.3 which is really good for the slot and channel, also against Anupama & Bigg Boss

Impressive ratings for a newly launched show that too at odd  timeslot (10.20 pm IST). Show has potential to become leading show of Zee. I hope it increases more and more.

Seem to have decreased from 1.3 to 1.1, thought will increase as episodes get airedsmiley13proper timing should be maintained by the channel, show gets aired at 10:15

Below was my last week's post on TRP's in EdT thread that I'm re-sharing here.


Before 27th Nov, between 9.45pm to 10.30pm mostly extended Kundali serial aired on Zee which used to showcase some 1.5 to 1.7 on weekly trp charts, while Kundali's competition was with Anupamaa & BB that mostly start sharp at 10pm on other GECs that they air on. 


With all the hype created by channel, PH & Sriti fans smiley14Zee might have expected KMTMG to get atleast Kundali trps for first week itself, assuming its from same set of sample BARC audience.smiley9


Anyhow first channel needs to regularly air KMTMG at 10pm as being promoted in media, not at 10.15pm or 10.20pm & stick 9.30pm as sharp start time to Kundali like earlier.

For new fiction shows TRP's may have least to do with quality. 


Its about marketing, channel distribution base, promotion's that comes first smiley9then comes key characters establishment, pace of the plots, concept, emotional connection, relatable factors that attract viewers initially,smiley14 much beyond the hype of some popular star cast working in it.


Here entire Ahuja & Shekawat family is so OTT, even casting & performances not so impressive along with PA Shekar.smiley39Chitnis family has some connect, with relatability factors but has to be used properly with more focus in plots & screen time.


Also how many Zee viewers actually knew that KMTMG aired even on last sat & sun, that it airs 7 days week?smiley9btw was time slot counted from 10pm to 10.30pm or 10.15pm to 10.45pm for BARC weekly data collection, as KMTMG wasn't airing sharp at 10pm even during last week.

Reality is most Indian general TV viewers, that too current pay TV subscribers DON'T decide/deliberate which hindi fiction soap or GEC they want to watch or not at a time slot,smiley9 based on TRPs list published by BARC with some rise or fall in ratings. smiley17 


Habits, bonding's, interests, attention, entertainment, unwind, thrill etc. are better factors for them. For prime time slots, the idea of watching TV with the family it seems is more important, than what is actually being watched.smiley14 And it can also be news, sports, if that’s the general consensus in the house at that point of time not necessarily another GEC.
