As I have said earlier, More Sikhs love India than khalistani lunatics. Sikhs love India, but let us not forget at one point there was a Sikh genocide (you might disagree). I am not a Sikh, but if I was a Sikh I would not ever trust the government blindly after that.

Sikh genocide was a dark chapter in Indian history. Mainly Congress party goons were involved.

Bhindrawale was former PM Indira’s stooge. Her son Sanjay Gandhi was seen roaming with him.
She planted him. Fed him and brought him up. He became too big for his shoes and started asking for separate state. That’s when she sent Army into Golden Temple.
I do think she should have respected Religious beliefs, but as a PM her first duty was to protect country. So really, I don’t know if I can blame her there.
Later her Sikh soldiers killed her. Which ignited riots all over India against Sikhs. These violent acts were committed by Congress and its workers.

What’s the point of blaming current govt. we got rid of Congress in 2014 and hope that continues.

I would also empathize with people/families directly affected by the 1984 riots, some of who may have been indoctrinated.

Did you watch Railway Man? There was a sub-plot of 1984 riots. Scary.
That Ticket collector got stabbed to protect Mother n son. Some people are so selfless!!

The whole series made me realize, India survived Congress rule coz there was good people at these posts and they cared for citizens. Congress was ought to eat us alive.

You are arguing with the one doesnt want to trust bjp and modi for sikh genocide that was carried out by congress...

I am totally judging you...smiley36

The same person who cant forgive modi for sikh genocide has forgiven muslims for killing millions of us for centuries, and for partition of the country she claims to hail from some decade ago.

Not only forgiven, she supports them unconditionally be it against hindus or jews who have been suffering islamic terrorism ever since islam came into existence.

She clakms she is indian

She clajms she follows bhagwad geeta in her daily life

She claims she goes to temples regularly

She clajms she is neither right nor left

She claims she is completely apolitical

And much much more

I am not making it all up yeh khud sabke aage apne yeh saare gun hamesha gaati rehti hai tumne bhi dekha hogasmiley36

Dekho dekho kitni acchi hai yeh, kitni pyari hai yehsmiley42

true, but, on paper, if the concerns are centered around alleged executions (and/or alleged attempts at executions), those concerns need to be addressed. in that respect, US/Canada inquiries with India are no different than the inquiries made on these message boards. just a Q&A session.

Why should we bother about those concerns coming from third party though?smiley36

You have to make sure before wasting your time n energy whose concerns you are acrually adressing.

If its coming from a dodgy personality or someone having vested intersts i dont think you need to seriously indulge them on such issues. The intention matters a lot otherwise we are falling in their traps making us look like fools.

Thats how i feel.

As long as there are no ad hominem attacks, nothing wrong in countering opposing viewpoints to the best of our ability using reasoning (and facts where applicable). If they beat me in a debate or if we've reached an impasse, I will quit smiley1

Ad hominem attacks, they are no longer capable of. Lost the steam already.

Initially they have done em on you too if i remember correctly

Now shoot n scoot is the policy. They dont stick around much longer to "debate" smiley36

I haven't watched it :) I am not big on watching movies/series based on true events, especially the tragic kind.

With respect to parties, not all is black and white (as you would agree). For instance, I love the way Indira Gandhi handled the 1971 war. I also have a lot of respect for Manmohan Singh's financial acumen.

Who should take ownership of the mass violence of 1984 is a great question. A lot of blame rightfully goes to Congress as their leaders instigated the mobs. India too, as a country, could/should have done more in terms of speedy time-bound prosecutions.

There are athletes who don't get emotionally involved in politics like Tom Brady. He even says "I think, in politics, half the people are gonna like you, and half the people are not gonna like you, no matter what you do or what you say... It's like there are no right answers. If there were, everyone would choose the right answers. They're all opinions."

@bold..So true 😂

And I m intolerant??? Oh ya
