Ranveer Singh exits Don 3 citing creative differences, not Dhurandhar success

Ranveer Singh’s reported exit from Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming action thriller Don 3 has sparked widespread speculation, with some suggesting it was linked to the success of his recent film Dhurandhar. New reports, however, clarify that the actor’s departure has nothing to do with the box office performance of Dhurandhar and is instead due to creative differences with the makers.

According to a source quoted by India Today, Ranveer did not walk out because of his recent success. “It’s actually an entirely different story. To start with, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar offered him Don 3 after he had delivered three colossal flops. They stood by him even after Sanjay Leela Bhansali shelved Baiju Bawra because he was considered not saleable at the time,” the source said.

Don 3 is one of Bollywood’s most anticipated franchises, and Ranveer was set to step into the shoes of actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. The source added, “Don 3 is the hottest franchise, and Ranveer was stepping into the legendary shoes of not just Shah Rukh Khan, but also Amitabh Bachchan. It is a dream role for any actor.”

Farhan Akhtar reportedly backed Ranveer at a time when other filmmakers had doubts, and this trust came before the release of Dhurandhar. The source confirmed that the exit is purely due to creative differences and disagreements over demands with the production team, not as a voluntary move or because of the success of his recent film.

There has been no official statement from Ranveer Singh or the Don 3 team so far. The film has already seen casting changes, with Kiara Advani stepping away after her pregnancy, reportedly making way for Kriti Sanon.

Away from work, Ranveer Singh and his wife, actor Deepika Padukone, were recently spotted at Mumbai airport heading out for a vacation. The couple, both dressed in black, were seen holding hands and smiling at photographers before boarding, showing a relaxed and cheerful side of the actor amid the industry speculation surrounding his upcoming projects.
