I love reading literary thrillers, and the latest I'm reading is Kala by Colin Walsh.

Here are a few of my favourite literary thrillers:

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn: This psychological thriller is known for its complex characters and a twisted, suspenseful plot. It's a great exploration of the dark side of a marriage.

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides: This is a gripping psychological thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end. It revolves around a woman who shoots her husband and never speaks again.

The Secret History by Donna Tartt: While not a traditional thriller, this novel has a literary and psychological aspect to it. It's a dark, campus-based novel with a murder mystery at its core.

The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn: A Hitchcockian-style thriller, this book features an agoraphobic woman who believes she's witnessed a crime in her neighbor's house.

In the Woods by Tana French: The first book in the Dublin Murder Squad series, this novel combines literary writing with a compelling murder mystery.

Can anyone suggest some more good literary thrillers?

I've been reading "The Secret History" lately, and it's been quite the enjoyable read. And this year, I discovered Keigo Higashino and read two of his books, "Malice" and "The Devotion of Suspect X" – both of them were fantastic.

From your book list, I've read "Gone Girl" and "The Silent Patient." Loved "Silent Patient", but "Gone Girl" didn't quite do it for me.

Some other thrillers which had me hooked until the end were:

Behind Closed Doors by BA Paris

Paris Apartment, IT girl, and One by One is on my list too!

I see you read Guest List. Did you like it? I've read that one and a similar book - An Unwanted Guest and liked the latter a lot more.

I liked the setting of Guest List. I wasn't a fan of the characters and I saw the twist coming, so I didn't like it. I added An Unwanted Guest to my TBR list.

I have a problem with that author's writing but can't really explain it. I've read Hunting Party as well and something was just missing. An Unwanted Guest is no masterpiece but is the quickest I've read a book in a while.

Minty, I read The Silent Patient on your recommendation 🥺 But I didn't like it much 🙈 I am sorry 😢 The twist was shocking, pretty novel I agree, but the storytelling was quite meh for me. It just wasn't very well put together in my opinion.

I plan to read Gone Girl by Flynn..... let's see how that goes.

Thrillers that I like -- Agatha Christie's majority of work! No 2 questions about it.

Do not need to mention Conan Doyle I think.

You may enjoy the Arsene Lupin series by Maurice LeBlanc.

I also recommend the novels by Mary Higgins Clark. Especially A Cry in the Night, All Around the Town, No Place Like Home (I would you would love it since you loved Silent Patient), Where are the Children and The Cradle Will Fall. (I am still reading her works. So there can be more. So far I love these😅).

And .... If we are talking about contemporary thrillers, I think you may want to give Cormoran Strike series a go too. By Robert Galbraith (Rowling).😅
