dont have any record for it .....during Sonu Nigam era there was much competition atif was emerging , himesh was viral, rahat too started then ....during early 2000 Sonu Udit got the noticeable songs from mid to late 2000 it was mix of Sonu Nigam , Himesh , Shaan , KK , Javid Ali .....so much competition ...and by 2008 Sonu Nigam announced to take a break due to his son birth and said he would like to do quality songs now ....singing every other song make no sense to me ..... he went to US for birth of his son.....by then his song Guzarish in Ghajni was replaced by javid ali which he recorded with different lyrics but they made changes to lyrcs , only Sonu humming was kept in the song ...

i dont know how much of it is authentic but here it is 2001-2010 time period songs number recorded by following singers .....which anyway is more than arijit singh sung songs in 10 years ......still people consider him overused

it possibily are only bollywood years ....excluding his private albums ....he had done couple of superhit albums like jaan, yaad , chanda ki doli too, and also classically mild

Previously there were multiple male and female singers. If Udit was singing, so was Sanu. If Alka was singing, so was Anuradha.

Nowadays almost every film's lead single (the one they overplay everywhere) is sung by Arijit.

Also, remember there are more mediums now. Pehle it was only radio and then records/cassettes/CDs. Ab add TV channels, YouTube, streaming services.

I have realised one thing.. It might feel he is over exposed , But you still happen to like his songs..eventually they grow on you. off late i was listening to the albums of ZHZB, RockaurRani , satya prem ki katha a lot and all of these have songs by him so i felt i was listening too much of him. But as ZHZB became little outdated now and i am listening only RaurR now, all the songs of that album have grown on me. Though i do agree other ppl like Sonu Nigam, Shaan etc need to sing more solo numbers

thats how it shows the quality over quantity. He is a magical singer and people are not bored of Arijit‘s magic (at least out of this forum). His songs are still top on the charts. Thats why producers take him otherwise why they would take risk?
