Absolutely correct. Indeed Aishwarya Saha who ranked higher than Arunita in SRGMPA Lil Champs Hindi! In this show she barely lasted 3 rounds I think.

There were joint winners - one of them is a devotional song specialist, unlikely to attempt anything out of his comfort zone. The other was Ashmita Kar. She was the runner up in the Lil Kids competition the year Arunita won it. She has already participated in SRGMPA at the senior All India level - the year Kushal Paul won and Jyotika Tangri was a finalist.

2nd was my favourite - an untrained natural singer from the Darjeeling hills. Albert Kabo. He was the the most popular contestant. Here is a clip:

Kabo recently lost his 1st born and I don't think he is ready for a national level competition at this time.

3rd was Sonia Gazmer who has already participated in the IL10 (1st elimination). She may not compete any more.

That is right. The child was born with a serious medical condition and chances of survival were slim.

If you have Zee subscription then it is easy to catch up with his performances during the show.

Kabo sings from the heart and is extremely tuneful. He carries no stage fright and is great to watch. "Free as the wind" is what his singing sounds like to me. 😊

PD had made Shayad his song. But Kabo’s rendition is equally appealing. 👍👌. There is a freshness in the voice - soft & beautiful. Planning to catch up more on him.

I was reading up on him. What a tragedy to lose an eight-month old baby! It was as recent as July, right? But there is a news item that he is back to work. He may not be up for the rigors of a national show yet. But may be next season.

There must be something in the mountain air - it churns out such gems, that too untrained ! 😊

Re bold : you can say that again! Remember Rito Riba too from II 13 auditions - what a voice!

And often I have come across folk singers or folk musicians in the mountains who are just simply amazing!

Riya Biswas attempted IL12. In fact there are clips of Arunita with Riya's mother as part of Aru's "build up" stories.
She also attempted SRGMPA seniors. No harm trying again I suppose.
Sugandha is a good candidate for both shows.

Just a guess. But these girls may be a part of one of the shows.
