Oh man you are making me feel guilty now,you are right about how generally tv actors are treated here,though in my defense I may not be a big fan of barun but there are many tv actors I find great,and I don't even think all bw actors are better than all tv actors.Barun himself is a better actor than certain actors in BW.
BW viewers don't even respect Pooja Sharma's draupadi(while wishing for the likes of Deepika P to play that character)
Tbh, it was such a long time ago but that attitude somewhat explains the nepo rule in BW.
Plus anyone encroaching on people's right to like something gets on my goat.
There isn't any TV actor with star power, that ended with the 2000 era of actors, the scene was pretty decent in early 2000's with shows like Kutumb, Dhadkan, Hubahu. I remember having a weird crush on Rajat Kapoor who played Sandhya Mridul's husband in that show.
Ram Kapoor has had a relatively decent stint minus the crap he has to do in between to sustain himself. Then again he worked with Mira Nair in Monsoon Wedding before his TV days..
Anyway I find the system pretty much skewed against them, they take on shitty work cos they have to pay their bills/loans. So fair play to anyone like Rajeev, Barun, SSR who may have sacrificed the stability of Tele in hopes of something better.
