My theatre literally erupted when RS during monologue with Behen ch#dh bhi bol nahi sakteh or something , I almost fell from my seat, it’s good hold abd nit wet my pants . Expressions on chaterji family was to be seen. Also I felt , more than Rocky rani had this urge to bang NOW , like right now ! The vibes she gave , her eyes were always hovering all over him with lust . No wonder she was trying to dodge him so many times . Kjo says part 2 has popped up , hope they start with suhaag raat.

Seriously?😲 That would be awesome. I have this discontentment about Rani’s character not getting a proper conclusion. Hope it gets addressed in the 2 .

You are right. Rani fell for him at the first sight, like how they usually show the heroes fall for the heroines at the first sight. Rocky catches her a couple of times gazing at him and she owns it like a Queen. Loved that aspect of Rani .

About BC, he doesn’t just say it once but repeats it thrice while their mouths were falling to the ground. 😆😆 the audience were literally in splits during that scene but it’s amazing how quickly he shifts gears and makes us all cry. I toh wanted to reach out and give him a ‘huddle’ ( as Rocky would say it😅).

Good watch it was although I would say it kinda fell short in the second half.

The first half was a riot. The audience in my theatre was in splits in the Jamini Kawal reunion scene. Proper hooting was happening.

Second half became like a TV serial. Too much drama and preachiness .

I felt the bengali family scenes were written better than the punjabi ones. Tota, Shabana were brilliant.

How graceful were Tota and RS in the dola re sequence. ❤️

Jaya was like a proper vamp straight outa an Ekta Kapoor show.

The old songs were used so beautifully. It really pulled up the film.

The film belonged to Rocky. He was such a beautifully written character. RS hit it outa the park.

Dint quite take to Rani's character. I cant believe I am saying this but KJO shortchanged Aloo. Even her entry was feeka. That bengali rap was bland.

Also felt the editing in the second half was a bit off and hurried.

The Sonu song deserves a mention.

All in all a good watch. Wayyyyy better than ADHM and SOTY.

This is an Oscar winning movie compared to ADHM, SOTY, and KANK in my opinion 😃

@ Bold - Omg YES. I was shocked watching this because I really thought when I watched the trailer that they kind of sabotaged RS and made him look/act obnoxious. After watching the movie, I feel like this is one of his best characters. In fact could be one of the most interesting male characters I've seen in a bollywood movie recently. They wrote him so well and he acted soooo well.

KJo did Alia a bit dirty 🤨 Like yes he made her look nice in her saris but what about giving her a character we've never seen her play? But maybe he didn't care because a lot of the articles are praising her to the skies anyway 😆

Rani was the same old fiesty heroine trying to salvage the opressed women of the household and trying to make them realize their self worth. Nothing new. Also somehow Alia's scenes did not click with the mummy and behna in my opinion. RS had better chem with the bong fam.

So true. The RS scenes with the family were so emotional. Gosh I want to watch this movie again just for all the RS moments 😭

I came out of hibernation just to post my review after watching the movie tonight. Ranveer, take a bow, till date only SRK could inspire me to fight a war against the login button after trying to reactive my account for the past seven janams. Jesus, selling my kidney at the black market is easier than getting out of hibernation.

I just wanted to say that I love Ranveer. I’ve loved him in the past, I love him in the present and I’ll love him in the future. He owns this movie. He literally delivered one of the most cutest, loveable and endearing characters of his career. I fell in love with him and his adorable english quicker than Alia’s character did. His portrayal of the character was phenomenal. I keep saying “character” coz for the life of me I don’t remember anyone’s name lmao.

The movie was very entertaining and like I said, Ranveer stole the show for me. The way Ranveer transitions his comedy, anger, and emotional scenes is completely effortless. He’s an all rounder. A beautiful man and a beautiful actor. May I add, he’s probably got the most beautiful body I’ve ever seen. Deepika is so lucky! 😭

I found it completely unrealistic that Alia’s family disapproved of Ranveer and didn’t want to give him a hug. Kindly go fuck yourself with that bullshit. Only a psychopath could be so mean to such a sweet person. My body would rise 6 foot from the grave just to be embraced in those muscular arms.

Lust stories aside, Alia looked very pretty. In fact, I’ve never seen her look so pretty ever. She acted well as per usual but I’ve seen her portray this character 100 billion times. Jaya Bachan was playing the role of herself yet still managed to act less scary/intimidating than her real self.

Dharmendra’s kiss was traumatising. In fact, I miss the person I was before watching his kiss scene. I have no idea what KJO was thinking because who TF has ever requested wanting to see a 99 year old man smooch onscreen. Not fooking me that’s for sure. Here I’ve been mopping and crying wanting to see SRK and Aish be cast in a movie with a happy ending (not as siblings, ghosts, or star-crossed lovers) but no, let’s ignore Fingu’s-last-wish-before-she-died and instead fulfil NOBODY’S wish of seeing a very aged Dharmendra kiss onscreen.

If that wasn’t enough for me to be seconds away from tackling my mum to the ground so she doesn’t see the kiss, I also had to endure Ranveer and Alia eating each others face. I felt like I was reliving the trauma of watching SRK and Katrina kiss again. It just wouldn’t stop. STOP KISSING - I roared internally, sobbing in anguish as my mum tsked tsked in disappointment. No mum, I cried, please don’t hate Ranveer, it’s all KJO’s fault. He’s forcing them to kiss! The same bloody excuses I used to justify SRK kissing Katrina. Bloody. Bollywood movies don’t need these excessive kissing scenes bruh. Go back to sniffing each others neck so I can watch these movies with my mum in peace! PLEZ.

Anyway good movie. Just be prepared to go into an open mouthed coma when the kissing happens. Back to hibernating. Thank you and come again.
