Token appearances, yes. And there was one scene of him signing documents. There was no mention of work once he moved into Rani's house. He seemed to have all the time in the world to learn kathak and go bra shopping.

The meeting happened after he moved into her home. Also there was another scene where they show how their company has again topped the industry when he was at work from where he comes home to share the news with Rani. Isn’t that enough? How much more you want them to spend at work when that is not the main point of the story? It was understood both have their own daytime jobs, now unless their jobs are a part of the story, why would they want to waste the screen time showing them at work all the time? While I understand and to some extent even agree with some of your points, this is coming across as nothing but nitpicking.

I don't have to justify my opinions to you or anyone else.

You're entitled to think of it as nitpicking. I'm entitled to my opinion that it was brain dead entertainment for people with very low expectations.

@kar08: Arre I am not asking you to justify. Obviously it’s your right to have your own opinion. But tell me which other movies have even touched upon the protagonists’ having a daytime job? Take Karan’s own previous movies. Were any of them shown doing any work ever? Here at least they mentioned about it and they even were shown at their work places.

I think what I disliked the most was the justification of extra marital relationships on the grounds that the respective people are married to unsympathetic and cruel people. So it's ok for Rocky's grandfather and Rani's grandmother to sneak off and coochie coo with each other because his wife is an authoritarian and her (dead) husband used to hit her ? How utterly disrectful this behaviour was to his wife, sitting there large as life. But it's all good cos you know, "soulmates". Based off a 7 day interaction some 50 years ago.

Paralyzed Dadaji regains the use of his legs and memory and starts walking talking and singing after one visit from his sweetheart😆

Men and women dressed in heavy Indian finery suddenly materialise at an akhada of all places to start singing and dancing😆 I mean they could at least have had the dancing crowd dressed for the environment.

Music was substandard and there was a terrible overuse of classic Hindi film songs which just goes to show how creatively bankrupt the Hindi film/music industry is.

Bengali and Punjabi stereotypes were on full display.

Alia is supposed to be the host of a talk show but suddenly she's in Kashmir filming what looks to be a lifestyle documentary 🤔

Does Rocky do any work?

Even the points they tried to make were heavy handed and preachy. A few days of Alia in the patriarchal Randhawa household and suddenly the oppressed women awaken from their deep slumber and start asserting themselves.

Very well said. While watching the movie and such lol moment's, I thought this was such a fodder for OnlyDesi and other ytubers who troll the movie like anything. I mean, which mother in law will go with her son in law for lingerie shopping? Matlab kuch bhi to throw a message. If he's not comfortable, it's his choice. I rolled my eyes zillion times when they glorified extra marital in the name of physical abuse. If Shabana was physically abused, that didn't get her right to break some other woman's home. And then Dharmendra says ghar thoda nahi karte? But he can kiss some random lady and it's supposed to be funny.

Would KJo show the same if the woman's husband was still alive and Dharm's character was a widower?

I also didn't like how there was no scene showing why Jaya's character is the way she is. She didn't get a chance to explain herself, only shown as evil old lady. Entire family disowns her yet her and her business are the reason they're affording their lifestyle

Alia was bland and her character was annoying, trying to hard to be woke but Alia was unable to make her likeable or charming. No meat to the love story, they were in a lust story, then suddenly she decides she misses him during Tum Kya Mile and then they're back together in love and soulmates. Why and how did they fall for each other? Esp why did Rocky fall for her?

They had nothing in common- she kept fixing his sentences in English. It was merely just lust!

Abusive partners or bad marriages are not a reason to cheat but it does provide the impetus to gravitate towards another person emotionally coz you lack that in your marriage.

Paralyzed dadaji suddenly stands up and walks is obviously done for the laughs and shock value and going by the reaction on social media , looks like they have successfully achieved it. The scene is one of the most talked abt scene from the film.

Also why are we looking for so much logic in a Bolly entertainer ? A 8 year old girl trying to look for her father's friend to patch her up with him is wayyy more illogical. But we buy into it. We have bought into tons of such illogical scenes in Bollywood.

Watched the film last night and I have to say it was not bad, maybe because I had the control to fast fwd dragged out portions smiley36

Anyway other than ADHM I have enjoyed Kjo's directorials , however this one looked like a high budget daily soap drama, and while I have always been very vocal about my dislike towards Ranveer and have never thought much of him, this film kinda changed opinion about him, the guy is damn good actor, he was very convincing as Rocky and made the movie worthwhile. I still feel he lacks good screen presence but he can surely rise above the script and Kjo could have easily given him a better look for the film.

His bestfriend was hilarious, so we're all of Rocky's interactions with Rani's familysmiley36

Jaya ji has clearly forgotten how to actsmiley36, Shabana Azmi was graceful as ever, Dharam ji was endearing, Alia Bhatt was bland as ever with same nostril flaring acting and screeching, despite all the desperate make out scenes, I didn't feel any chemistry between the leads....songs were meh bg score was outrageously bad smiley36except the aigri nandindi bit in Durga Puja song. Special mention to actor who played Rani's father, he was really good.

The film's entertainment quotient takes a back seat due to OTT wokeness and randomly inserted old songs, seriously dafuq was up with thatsmiley36the movie was so unnecessarily lengthy matlab 3 hrs ki? I am glad I didn't watch this in theatre. The film is still watchable mainly bcoz of Ranveer Singh (never thought I'd say thatsmiley36),
