I almost wish they would have toned down on the social messages and focused on Alia and Jaya characters getting along because that would have shown why Rocky fell in love with Rani, and shown bonding between two successful women from different generations and their shared traits to break glass ceilings.
I, too, was shocked someone would be mocked for being a dancer…like what? Why? Unless they were suggesting that dance is a women’s world and him dancing made him gay/ effeminate. Idk, my heart broke for the father and when they did the dola dance I was cheering them on! Haha!
You just took the words out of my mouth. I so wanted both of them to bond and have some affectionate moments as a poti and grandma. In the end it was so strange that she was even absent from her only grandson’s wedding. Yes, come to think of it, they didn’t show why exactly Rocky would fall in love with Rani. I think the screenplay was heavily focused on Rocky.
Come to think of it, the bonding amongst the families is completely absent. Rocky’s relationship with his mother and sister wasn’t explored at all. Neither was his bonding with the grandma who seemed to be such a dominant factor in his life. Also they didn’t explore on the family being affectionate towards Rani. It was more like Rani was some stay in therapist who was hired to save the mother and sister. I think at the end of it, KJo did bite into more than what he could chew.
