Just chipping in here and continuing the discussion from the previous pages.
Talking about success, i think it won't be a stretch to say that Danish is also right up there with Ayeza.
If we look back, Both have had more than decade long careers and continue to be one of the biggest names in the entertainment field there. Both have had blockbuster projects in their kitty backed by TRP and youtube viewership records. Time and again delivered big hits, so it isn't as if their projects were just one time fluke hits. Their contribution to these projects too has been significant and there has been many times where they have been the biggest draws of the projects. Both are capable of doing different genres and have shown versatility. They have won awards at the LSAs and HUM. Ayeza is the most followed Pakistani and Danish is one of the top followed Pakistani men.
The only point where it differs for them is how the industry acknowledges and offers Ayeza big projects, while they don't do the same with Danish. Danish has in fact worked with quite a few of the top elite cast and crew that we talk about today, much early into his career itself. Be it Kashif Nisar, Kashf Foundation, Mehreen Jabbar, Haisam Hussain, etc. The other way to also look at it is that, Danish inspite of not getting the quintessential big names and big projects to work, he still tries doing his best with whatever comes his way and delivers it to the level that an average project becomes one of the most successful projects of the year. As an actor too if he gets to work with the maestros, he will only get finer and better with his craft. I feel Danish has had the backing of the audience but its the industry that hasn't given him his due.
For sure it might seem like Danish might not be as popular as Ayeza and i think the opportunities that come their way has got a lot to do with it too. Popularity and success are two different things which we usually confuse for each other. Moreover, Drama is a women centric space, actors and actresses won't have similar journeys in that sense. If Danish can do this good with average work, he will only get better with better work. The other discussion on this could be how pak drama industry has celebrity couples but very few top celebrity couples where both are successful or power couples. From there, Danish Ayeza would definitely make it to this. Sajal and Ahad were a power couple when they were married. But, i have always felt Ahad was given everything on a platter, those opportunities that others can only wait for, for the longest time, its hard to see his success as organic. I dont consider someone like Sarah and Falak a power couple, they are more of a popular couple.
Also, whatever status quo in the industry these two have is just based on the work they have done and without getting into over active PR activities, becoming headlines, socialising, being spotted at events, or having an alliance with any of the media there, which generates buzz. It's quite organic that way.
I also feel that a lot of new fans and audience got introduced to the Pakistani dramas in the recent times and they dont have much knowledge about other celebs other than their favourites and sort of take over all social media platforms get dismissive about other celebs. Or the illusion might be that others are no longer relevant other than the ones whose fandoms are active. From the senior lot, Only fawad and Mahira are an exception because of the Humsafar success and their Bollywood ventures, their success got sealed in a different way. Several other celebs who have been big names and from around the same time as them dont have hyper active fandoms and aren't trending on social media platforms. Like Saba, Sanam, Zahid, Fahad Mustafa etc. But that doesn't mean they are not successful or any less. If we talk about work point of view and not controversies, Usually it's the new and upcoming, young and successful and ones trending for their dramas who get the social media hype because of fandoms.
