I have seen folks divided over this for the longest time.

Which one deserved the best music album of 2001: Lagaan or Tum Bin?

Lagaan swept away all music awards, but I feel Tum Bin was the best music album of 2001.

Each and every song in Tum Bin is a gem. TBH, even Kasoor, RHTDM, and Dil Chahta Hain were better than Lagaan.

Opinions, folks?

Dharamsankat 🥴

But both albums are two entirely different genres. One is inspirational while the other one is absolutely romantic.

I agree both albums are different genres but one has to objectively judge which one is better because ultimately it boils down to which one deserves the best music award. Melody over the genre.

It’s too hard to pick only one winner from the movies you mentioned. I guess they just went with the popular choice. But even Gadar’s album was there in the contest and it became more popular than even Lagaan’s album. So really not sure why Lagaan swept all the awards when there were several able contestants.

It’s not often that an album quietly slips into your playlist and ends up carving a permanent space in your heart. Saiyaara is that rare gem....
