Honestly I don't think Khoon Bhari Maang should be remade, mainly because it's become a huge cult classic. In fact, similar to this, 15 years ago a remake of Guide was commissioned, but the project was abandoned. No remake will ever be able to live up to Guide's cult classic status. Similarly, KBM is the Rekha movie for cinebuffs.
If there was a movie that should be remade I would pick a lot of the 90s/00s noir cinema movies that were actually forgotten, however I'd wish the directors came back too with the remake so that the adaptation could be given due justice.
I would love to see Lajja remade/a movie that is a spiritual sequel to it - however I'd want to see some of the storylines altered. The actresses were very good, however I feel like the movie premise was forgotten and not as appreciated as it could have been.
I want to see, out of all older movies, the Jewel Thief remade. Not because the original isn't amazing but the story is quite purposeful.
Dil Se except remove SRK's stalker persona.
Lakshya - although I'd want a spiritual sequel, not a remake of such a new film.
Sanju needs to be remade with facts.
I believe one day that a remake of Lamhe will happen (not that I want it, but it is guaranteed to happen). The audience will accept the story this time around. If the OG would have been released in the 2010s it would have become a massive hit.
I understand your sentiments and no doubt that KBM is cult classic, but an improved, modern take on the film's story shouldn't be a big deal for the fans.
OG film will always be a classic, and no one can take that away from it.⭐️ But there are certainly some elements of the film that can be toned down and certain aspects that can be improved in the new version.
GenZ perhaps would find old KBM way too melodramatic for their taste, and hence a modern and improved remake would be a terrific choice. The film doesn't have to be labelled "feminist", because for some reason men don't like films with the feminist tag. The OG was loved and appreciated equally by men.
I was surprised to learn that a remake was considered few years ago with Deepika as lead🤔. But, I am sorry to Deepika's fans, but Kangana is pitch perfect for the role.

I've personally always believed that Kangana and Rekha share too many similarities. May be that's why I badly want Kangana to see in that role.

Regarding Lajja, Yes, I would love to see a spiritual sequel to that film, probably with Deepika, Kareena, Priyanka and Vidya ?? (One can only dream of😆)
Lamhe is a YRF product. YRF will never allow its remake , unless they themselves do it, which seems very unlikely.
