I have seen work of Amrish Puri, Irrfan, Om, Gulshan Grover, Ash and PC in international projects and they sound unnatural, unconvincing. The depth and emotion is not there in English when they speak it. It sounds artificial or trying too hard.

You hit the nail on the head with that one. I was never able to put my finger what I didn't like when I saw these well established great Indian actors in HW movies. Don't think DP would, Alia I agree has some crazy powers otherwise I don't know how she is the top actress today PC is one of a kind....she forged her own path though I still haven't enjoyed any of her works in HW but she is the most successful of them now. I do miss her in BW though, as an actress she was the total package and did some amazing and good movies here.

PC is the best of the lot which so far inc Aish, Dp and Alia but she is highly pretentious..Dp was actually pretty good in her interview with Ellen..there was just no pretense and I loved that about her..

Aish was the worst of them all..she and her stereotypical representation of desi women was cringe..she sounded arrogant and she literally put these women ,trying to make a name internationally, in the same box they have been stuck since ages..we don't do kissing scenes..they put a song in place of that..wth..you yourself did kissing scenes..and most of the movies around that time had kissing scenes..so what all was she shitting about..and we live with our parents..we don't take appointments for dinner..oh just cut the crap..she acted so pompous..and this is not even true for so many of the desis out there..many want to live independently..and are living independently..so please..i am glad she is not in HW anymore coz she was just embarrassing and did so much more damage by only enhancing the stereotypes desis are already stuck in that too on a global level..

Lara! That Lady was cut out for HW. She never fit into BW and I could see why. She had and has the persona for Hollywood. The height, the looks, the body, the language, the class, the sass.

Lara could've been a big success story as PC was, if she tried during her prime. Or even now in some capacity. To start off with HBO and TV flicks abroad and then venture out to doing more, like PC.

Deepika ka kahin bhi kuch nahi hona hain she will turn 38 in Jan. Alia still has age on her side and powerful lobby pulling strings for her so if not anything there will be steady work on OTT.

I totally agree on Ash trying to look holier than thou and borderline shaming western people for not living with parents or taking appointment to meet parents for dinner or dressing in sarees or bindis or tying saree to Oprah. Only desis like Ash and think she upheld Indian values.

Otherwise her accent, speaking style, laugh were all fake and wannabe. I cannot stand her old interviews to global media.

Ash has only looks in her favour. She lacks good speaking skills IMO.

Sushmita and Lara were definitely better spoken. I had heard a lot about Sushmita doing some international project in 2000s. I wonder why it never took off.

Lara was always misfit in Indian films. She looked international and her English was impeccable. Flawless pronunciation. I wonder why she never tried for work abroad. She simply gave up and married too early and had kids too soon as well. Her choice though. But she had it in her to make it abroad.

DP has the Rohit Sharma syndrome. Talented af but too lazy in terms of body language. Has no drive.

Alia has drive but little talent. Maybe she can, British passport also helps
