Maitree lost her entire life in a day. She lost her friend, husband and her inlaw hate her. I think in this point she saw that Nandish needs her and as the child represents nandini she got attached to him. Note she is not possessive for the child but the mother I.e Nandini who was in coma and the baby is premature. Already the faith of the mother is unknown and now if the child is not given proper care his faith is also unknown. This lead her to become possessive of him because he resemble something she is possessive about her one true friend Nandini. I don't think she realizes that she is digging a grave for herself. Once who supported her are wary of her and for her. Sona tai even if she hates her knows that a child belongs with the natural mother and too much attachments to Maitree will make her moving forward hard. Ashish parent are grateful and respect her but feel left out and scared for their son, grandson and Maitree. Ashish is aware but helpless. But Maitree is going to be affected badly.

you said it so perfectly well here. Maitree out of her good heart gave her all and in return she is going to get nothing but hatred and more hatred. You are correct in saying that she has dug her own grave. Too much kindness is not good and so is too much hatred. One needs to know how to balance it. She gave Nandu’s child the love of a mother but she forgot where she was suppose to draw the line where the child got the love and nurturing that he needed but also knew where he eventually belonged— with his real mom. In yesterday’s episode it was evident that she was extremely sad and hurt that she will have to leave Tiwari house and be out of Nandish’s life. I wasn’t expecting that reaction from Maitree. I thought she would happily leave the house and move back with her parents.. but no here she is dragging her feet, crying and trying to communicate with Ashish thru her expressions that she does not want to leave. That’s was totally unexpected for me and this I the time when I feel the real trouble has started.. she is too attached to the kid now and it’ll be a hell of a time for Maitree because Nandu is not going down without a fight
