What are your thoughts on this movie?

Lavish sets, extravagant songs, and a tragic love story lie at the heart of this film. The pathetic Devdas and his unfulfilled love for Paro...

Do you think this movie was worth the hype and hoopla?

Strange was the fate of Devdas. Intensely loved by two women, who were never meant to be his. One whom he could never love and one whom he could never stop loving.

IMO, Madhuri was the best part of the movie. She shone in her role and how!

Aishwarya looked like a dream and SRK was also good as the tragic lover.

Stupid movie. SRK chose to drown himself in alcohol but couldn’t stand up to his mother or family members for the love of his life. And Paro’s mother was an even bigger idiot for marrying her off to an uncle with 3 children just because her egoistic self wanted to spite Devdas’s mom.

If anyone who has seen the original version starring the late Dilip Kumar, would understand how ridiculous SRK looked and played Devdas... SRK was playing the title character, and if all the praises (set looked good, Aishwarya looked stunning, Madhuri looked amazing etc) are given elsewhere, then something somewhere didn't work. And that really was SRK! I'm not sure if Mr Bhansali felt that he couldn't control or contain his actor(s) while making the film but he should have forced SRK to act like Devdas, get lost in that character that no one would see the actor... But sadly all we saw was SRK play Devdas... He never became Devdas... Whilst in comparison, Ranveer Singh was Bajirao.. he was so immense into the character that you, as a viewer, would think that perhaps the original was like the imitator. And that perhaps, in my opinion, is the highest compliment you can give to an actor.
