Pretty disappointing episode today, almost looked like a filler. I was interested in this because the bachpan challenge of last season was absolutely fantastic so thought this would be good but felt the contestants creativity was very limited.

I'm pretty sure Aruna's dish was the dish of the day but they gave Gurkirat the position because Aruna anyways has the immunity pin so might as well give it to Gurkirat. Except both of them, none of the dishes looked good. Priyanka's dish was confusing as hell - Coconut, Kamranga and Raw Mango 🤪I wouldn't even touch a macaroon if it had kamranga in it 😆 What the hell did Avinash even serve?? At this stage of the competition? What was that tree Sachin made? Was he attempting a reynold from MasterChef Australia?😆 KDK's dish sounded so promising but looked and probably tasted bad. Suvarna made cookies shaped as her pet dogs- is this a muhalla baking competition to do all this at this stage? 🤡 I think the biggest mistake everybody made was they thought they had to put the whole childhood into their plate so made such complicates dishes whereas this was a challenge of childhood memories which is the most simplest thing in the world. That's why both Aruna and Gurkirat succeeded as they focussed on one flavour and built elements around it. Aruna's presentation was top class! I see her as one of the finalists of the show.

Also Shanta, when you are having real coconut and real coconut milk, why would you use coconut essence? 😭😭

Lol now those black aprons on Suvarna and Avinash make sense. It is also well deserved. One mistake they (and most of the contestants made) was to try and put their entire childhood into a dish. NO! It was about a childhood memory! Simplicity. Come on yaar! As kids we didn't look to eat 20 different flavours. We had one flavour that we absolutely loved and that we would do anything for. I know mine was chocolate. You could give me anything with milk or white chocolate and I would have eaten it up.

For me, the 2 most outstanding dishes today were Gurkirat and Aruna. Nayanjyoti was just up there, but I agreed with the chefs, his presentation was lacking (something he himself wasn't happy with).

Tomorrow one more chef will be safe. Let's see - 2 people left who don't have black apron this week so obviously it'll be one of them.

I was hoping todays episode brings out some interesting dishes, but it seemed like contestants were more interested in creating multiple dishes to show their talent and not depict their childhood. Only a few of them - Aruna, Gurkeerat, Deepa, Shanta, Kamaldeep and Nayanjyoti understood that.

Aruna’s dish while interesting, wasn’t so pretty to look at, in my opinion. It was creative though - making a popsicle out of kheer.

Gurkeerats dish was something I could relate to - my mom also gave me a lot of rose milk as a child. It was a dish with simple flavours, presented differently and beautifully.

Deepa’s dish was something I haven’t heard of. I was curious because I knew she’d make a Sindhi dish. Presentation was nothing great and it didn’t sound tempting enough.

Shanta - her dish was beautiful, and I’m sure it would’ve been dish of the day had the coconut essence not been overpowering.
Nayanjyoti - he’s usually good with desserts, so his dish would taste good was a given. His presentation today was poor.

Priyanka - she had a lovely looking dish but way too many elements. And the minute she started rattling off all the things she was making, i knew she wasn’t making a dish that reminds her of her childhood, but trying to show her cooking prowess. Her plating was beautiful, like always.

Avinash - the presentation was bad. I mean even you and I could do better. Also his thought may not have been bad, but executed badly. He could’ve made a pudding out of it, or maybe even an ice cream. This looked like it was some powdered elements, very choorma looking.

Sachin - I don’t even know what he made. It was so rushed. Honestly, I have no problem with the chocolate tree. In previous seasons chocolate trees have been praised. I just wished there was more to it, like the soil of the tree being an element of the dish or something (candy like) from the branches.
Naziya - what was the innovation in her dish? She had jalebi and moong dal halwa. And of course the jalebi was too soft.

Priya - she got the texture of the panacotta wrong. If you’re unsure you’d be able to set a dish, make something else! Adding too much gelatin (or agar agar or corn flour) ruins the texture of your dish.
Kamaldeep - I thought her dish had the potential to be very interesting. Didn’t sound like a top dish, but could be a fun dish with contrasting flavours - sourness of the yoghurt, sweetness of sugar, earthiness of roti. She could’ve played with sugar and chilies or pepper to give it a different flavour.

Suvarna - her presentation wasn’t great but I kind of liked the dog thing, was cute and related to her childhood. She could’ve also done something different like a pull up cake that’s trending nowadays and doesn’t even take long for the presentation. Anyway, she had too much baking soda and baking powder which would’ve made the cake horrible to taste.

Gurkeerat, rightly got the best dish of the day.
I think today most contestants were subpar when it came to creativity and innovation. It was the same old cakes for most. There’s so much more one can do.

Avinash rightly deserved the black apron. If Suvarna had too much baking soda and powder, Shanta had too much essence. Some others had faults too. So not sure Suvarna deserved it. But if it means Suvarna may be eliminated this week, I’m happy she got it.

Lol, the start of cooking everyone was rushing to get ingredients in 1 go.

Aruna- semiyan kheer popsicle sounds interesting. But, dish looked bit unimpressed in comparison to past dishes. The papad, I felt was unappealing to the eyes.

Swarna- dish sounds too complex. Coming to presentation, wasn;t impressed by it as it felt like a kid's cake. Vanilla essence, baking soda & baking powder killed the dish. Lulz, thank goodness her part was kept in last and not throughout thr episode though. "Bad impression" speech was mehh.

Sachin- They could've shown the still of the dish rather than Vikas exploring it for the clarity of viewers since I could'nt see 1/2 of the dish. When it came to his part &, took a more closer look, the tree, IMO, ruined the dish.

Nazia- Huh? The dish felt too simple. Halwa and jalebi only. Should've been in bottom two. Jalebi looked too soft due to sugar syrup.

Priyanka- I felt she was going all over the place. Plus, combining mango with kamranga is too weird considering their distinct tastes LOL. Also, the dish was just too complicated by the words. Presentation was nice but I felt it was bit overdone.

Santha- Dish looked nice, liked the glaze on the dome. Coconut essence killed the taste.

Kamaldeep- felt there were too many childhood memories being discuss hence wary of the dish. Presentation was pretty cool. Lassi cheesecake is pretty cool. Looks like the flavors backfired on her dish.

Priya- should've thought of backup since panna cotta can make/break the dish. Color contrast is nice of the dish. Panna cotta seemed to turned liquid thus the inconsistency.

Avinash- poor plating, man! The 1st dish made in auditions round and now this? I expected better, feel like he's exhausted and could be eliminated. I could be wrong but idk.

Nayanjyoti- nice presentation but it could be better. Good thing orange was kept consistent.

Gurkirat- Presentation was interesting. Nice job! I liked the artwork as Vikas described and the glaze of the cake was pretty nice.

Deepa- I have eaten khoya dessert since I have Sindhi friends from childhood and college so was familiar with the flavor. Thus was wondering if the dish will overpower in terms of taste/flavor.

I don't really know how to recreate her dish exactly, but really cheap popsicles are sold in villages— either mango, orange or icy sweet milk. They are topped with sweet sewaiyan. Which means that sewaiyan goes into the mould first toped by whatever liquid.

What is this obsession with International food this season 😕 Also Aruna is definitely favored. Her dish will be tested always. They should change this format of testing only few dishes as this does not look transparent

I agree Aruna is favoured. Today her dish lacked a high protein ingredient, which was a requisite for todays task.

So technically her dish should be incomplete and not tasted (like Priyas). But her dish was not just tasted but some bits praised as well.

On the other hand, they didn’t even show Sachins dish, when they were walking around seeing the final presentation.
