I think he should have restricted himself to criticising the technical aspects of the film. The film may have been based on true events but it did have lot of technical flaws including the way the story was told.
Jury's duty is analysing the films on their technical merits/flaws not the actual content or the view taken by the maker.

Maybe I am misremembering but Nadav Lapid is very outspoken about Israel's atrocities in Palestine. You are also compulsorily required to serve in IDF.
Ah he spoke about Palestine after actively serving in IDF toh saat khoon maaf?šiāll also go shoot my neighbour tomorrow and apologise one decade later, tell them I am now older and wiser and hope for the best.šš¼Imagine calling a movie about the genocide of its indigenous people āvulgarā, what a disgusting man. The āpropagandaā he speaks of must be so awful that itās caused the innocent poor militants to retaliate and shoot multiple KPs and Sikhs in the Valley just this year itself.
I don't think Kashmir Files should be compared with Schindler's list or Pianist.
Both the films did speak just about the atrocities committed against Jews but they were also about the few Germans who went against Hitler and tried to save the Jewish people.
Kashmir files is all about what Pandits went through but all the Muslims in the movie were portrayed as evil. One cannot paint the whole community with one colour based on the acts of committed by some people.
In RRR the British officers were portrayed in negative shades but also a British girl was shown as positive. It was a very simplified version of characterisation but care was taken to show that human beings should be classified as good or evil based on their behaviour.
Kashmir Files did not do that. One cannot disregard the fact that it was endorsed by a right winged political party and the makers of the film endorse right wing ideas.
There is no doubt that the subject of TKF is some to be needed to tell, but there is also no doubt that the filmmaker gave it a propagandistic touch and that the movie was actively supported by a regime that undoubtedly has a fascist tendency.
So, I would not blame a man like Navad who himself is outspoken about his opposing stand against the Israelien government and some atrocities Israel did to other communities to mention that this movie should not have been selected.
Yet, there would have been - I think - another way to criticise the selection of TKF.

So to clarify, your issue was with the lack of existence of any kind of tokenism?
I keep reading āxyz govt took advantage of the theme of the movieā. Does that it ANY way discount the awful ordeal of those who went through a genocide? If tomorrow Boko Haram take a video of innocent Palestinian kids being executed to justify their kidnapping of Christian Nigerian girls in an attempt to āhelpā their cause, would that mean the Palestinian cause is not worth fighting? There is zero logic to this debate. Take your whataboutery elsewhere.
Filmmakers please take note from our members. If you ever dare to make a movie about the civil rights movement or British rule over India, make sure your absolute priority is that there is at lease one good white guy, ok? They werenāt all zaalim people.šPlease do the same with South African apartheid, all Holocaust movies, thank you very much.

First things first. This is not correct, Everybody is entitled to their own opinions. This is a discussion foum. I have every right to express my opinions. Nobody can tell me to take a hike because they don't agree with my views.
XYZ party did take advantage of the movie and it was heavily promoted by the party in states where it is in power.
Here the question is not about whether the atrocities experienced by the Pandits should be told about or not it is about painting one whole community with the same colour based on the acts committed by some people of the community. That's what the movie did while telling the story of Pandits. That is wrong.

Chalo phir, continue your whataboutery. You do it extremely well.šš¼
Although unfortunately I canāt say the same for your comprehension skills. Any party, good or bad, political or not, may hop on to a bandwagon. It does NOT invalidate the cause itself. Or in this case, the massacre and genocide of KPs. So to reiterate, your issue was with the lack of tokenism? Unfortunately for many KPs, they never got to see the āgood sideā of their neighbours before their lives were brutally taken. Would that invalidate their experience in your opinion? Sadly there was no token good guy in their story.
The Kashmir Files became massive hit but why it didnāt happen same for The Bengal Files? Why did that movie flopped so badly? It was made with...
