Rant about rupali acting

I personally think she does 🤣 she others are natural

Rupali ki acting mein koi kami nahi hai bus story track pe aa jayegi aur Mujhe lag raha hai story track pe aa raha hai

She was selected for this role because of her OTT expressions and OTT acting.

I am a fan of Rupali but the character has been written as loud and OTT.

The dialogues are repetitive and every character has some cliche lines they keep repeating to the point of it getting irritating.

I am not referring to Mamaji's "I know manne remember che" as it's supposed to be a punch line, but Anupamaa using phataphat, bohut bohut bohut, dhyaan rakh chu, etc just too many times gets on my nerves. Same goes with Kavya's "Oh God" and many of Leela's dialogues.

It's sad but true that when it comes to creativity in dialogues and diction, Vanraj is having the best ones these days. They are to-the-point, send the message across and are also not dumbed down.

Her acting has worsened.

In the beginning pf the show and initial stages of MaAn relationship she seemed natural yet powerful.

Nowadays its OTT and caricature like most times. I think Rupali has given up 😂

Anyway she is getting paid the same and the writing is bullshit plus I guess she is overworked lol 🤣

I have never seen her other serials....but man she is such a bad actor and dancer.....Instead of coming across as a stern and confident mother....she comes across as a power drunk bully....bullying everyone and saying talk to my hand....and she makes such weird hand gestures and expressions...

I remember Rupali from the old Sarabhai V Sarabhai show and she was hilarious. A personal favourite of mine in that show. She does have the chops but not sure why director approved this weird accent/swollen face look.

I am gujarati and even my grandmother, a woman who is not that highly educated, who learned English in the later years of her life, does not speak in this kind of accent. It's actually a bit offensive and caricaturist.

And of course over the course of the show, Anupama has gone from relatable to mahanta ki murti. Complete with OTT bhashan, ideals she fails to follows but preaches at the top of her lungs, and treating other characters like criminals.

Also I get it, the character likes simplicity. But simplicity and quality are not mutually exclusive. No one said just because you are simple your clothes cannot come from a boutique or you cannot update your sense of style. Even western wear can be worn with simplicity and panache.

But we're getting off topic. The point is Rupali is a good actor and she can deliver provided the script supports her, the story does not try to justify every action her character undertakes as righteous and she loses some of those caricaturish mannerisms that supposedly depict a typical gujarati woman. (they don't. I've never seen my mother or grandmother act like this. Seriously who approved it?!)

I can't imagine anyone else as Anupamaa other than Rupali, if you think she is OTT then you should watch Pushpa impossible where Pushpa is literally loud and OTT in every scene.

Rather than her acting, I honestly think it is the script, the writers, the direction in which the story is heading (if one can it a story.. sad, but yeah) due to which viewers are getting irritated.

Rupali is a good actress. But idk why Anupamaa is portrayed OTT.... the makers perhaps wanted that. I feel like at times ot takes away from her acting....
