Wearing a sari after marraige ??

Until pakhi and kinjal got married, they both wore western dresses, jeans, shirts, flocks, etc. But after marriage, they've started to wear saris and lenghas.

Now, I have nothing against saris and lenghas. I think they're really cute. But I wish pakhi and kinjal wouldn't wait till after marraige to change from western to traditional clothing. I miss it when they wore western clothes because it shows their original style.

Toshu and adhik are the husbands right ?? So why can't THEY wear sherwanis and kurtas ?? They've been wearing western clothes before AND after marraige !!

That's so not fair !! Why do the women of star plus have to change THEIR clothing styles after marraige and not the men ??

Like I said in my previous posts, my mom and dad have been married for 20 YEARS.

Yes, My mom and dad changed their clothing styles but that's when generational clothing styles have been changing. They both wear western clothes and cosy pajama type clothes in front of each other.

In real this doesn't happen, atleast in my knowledge/experience. I don't know anyone who got married and overnight gave up their jeans/Ts, dresses, kurtis & crop tops and suddenly started wearing only sarees!! I feel this is totally made up to cater to ITV saas and the stereotypical audience who have dogmatic traditions and should be discarded! Even moms and grandmas nowadays don't wear sarees every day.

If it's by choice that's their own prerogative, but if someone is forced to make such a drastic identity change definitely not the right move to marry in such a family!

IMO the general populous in cities at least sticks to casual wear and sarees/lehengas are left to festive wear - or all this just might be a marketing ploy by big-name saree stores to showcase and sell sarees in shows like these:) hahahaha And wouldn't it be a huge expense for the husband/family to pay for a full new saree wardrobe overnight?

Nowadays women don't even change their last names after marriage or maybe hyphenate it and use both, then why the need to change your apparel style?!

Have u seen kavya, kinjal, bb, dolly in saree always. Leave others, kavya and kinju who are latest bahus.. Hahaha. Were they in sarees after next day of marriage.

When did pakhi get time to buy saree. Shaadi karne ke baad Or shadi karne se pehle. I wonder how did she even manage to buy sindoor, mangalsutra, bangles and that red dress in just few hours.

I did nt get why makers showed pakhi in saree. Nowadays, everybody wears what they want. But of course, sarees are bought or gifted during wedding Sometimes, sares remain untouched in almirahs.

Bold:- in the beginning of the show, kavya and kinjal wore western dresses and sleeveless tops and suddenly shifted to traditional after marriage. Dunno about dolly because we don't know what she wore before marriage as she was introduced as a married woman.

BTW, have yall noticed that kavya turned into a good person when she wears saris and lenghas ?? When she wore western clothes, she was the bad person.

even in bollywood movies from 70s they show same

like heroine wear frock pants jeans before marraige

after marraige in saree

like kuch kuch hota hai kajol or DDLJ too

as soon as marraige fixed heroine wears lehengas or sarees

it gets into psyche of general public that western wearing woman are bad or vamps or not married thru such potrayals in movies or serials

while in real life now even 65 or 70 year olds wear jeans or salwar or palazzo shirts in city atleast

That is why men say after rape they get caught she was wearing not proper dress inviting a rape - bec in bollywood and serials they show like that

The problem is the subtle stereotype that media enforces directly or indirectly on masses.

Dressed in a certain way is representative of a certain behaviour pattern.

Like the long bindis represented vamps in the old K-serials.

Western outfits representing "modern, snobbish" women.

This, somewhere, influences us in real life too. Which is a sad reality.

Case in point, the famous airport encounter of Mrs.Sudha Murthy.
