As far as I recall - Shakib, Fizz, Mushfiqur won IPL contracts. Mushfiq was forced out after his antics, when India lost to WI in semis of the T20 WC, where BD failed to win match 2 off 3 balls, the premature dance one. Fans raged on social media - Mushfiq apologized for his antics but it was too late.

Litton has an outside chance of making it to IPL if BD doesn't have any matches scheduled during IPL window, provided he's a bit consistent with run making - especially against India 😆 If Litton was an allrounder he would've been confirmed a spot a lot earlier. Taskin, I'm not sure - may be BD might need to take his workload management too.

bd games were damn interesting and thrilling besides the sa one but it was not unpredictable 😆 but no one thought bd will come this close vs india.

Anyhow, NZ and SA invariably choke at ICC events so there goes that lololol

Netherlands was a comfortable win, rest could have gone either way 😆 Fans would've been burning their effigies on road by now, social media might be hot with trying to kill some scapegoat 😆

he is also in great form this year. hope he gets contract. interestingly kl n gambhir wanted taskin in LSG last year as replacement of one of the injured bowlers but taskin couldnt play cause of national duty. glad to see kl n gambhir rated him highly.

Surely, BCCI cannot be credited for India's population and rise of cricket popularity after the '83 WC in a globalised world of middle class aspiration and spread of televised sport in the late 80s and 90s.

And for India to have broadcasting profits, they need to play with at least one other team. They cannot play alone na. Big 3 because Australia and England are the only other two teams who have considerable money and cricket culture to provide audiences of their own alongside India matches for broadcasting deals. Also, Big 3 is a term senior sports journalists and scholars themselves use.

Here:

https://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/01/sports/cricket/big-three-cricket-nations-look-to-consolidate-their-influence.html

Basically, if broadcasters earn most money from India matches, the incentive is to make India play as many matches as possible, that too with equally popular and strong teams. So, the incentive to push money in smaller teams that might not generate as much viewership as India/Aus/Eng becomes zero to none. See how many matches India plays in a year to how many international matches especially tests WI plays.

This is not a new thing, this process was started during Dalmia's presidency and was only augamented by the IPL.

Heck, the Big 3 even control the ICC anti-corruption unit so smaller boards realistically do not stand a chance to appeal to a neutral body which ICC should be.

Harsha talks about cricket economy here :

You can see how broadcasters have massively influenced and bulldozed ICC even before IPL became big :

I'm referring to workload management, BD doesn't have many fast bowlers - so need to take care of the limited stock carefully.

let us win next match first, baad mein dekhenge kya ukhaad lenge against AUS/ENG/NZ in semis. If NZ makes it to semis v India, I'm certain we'll choke again as usual. We can't defeat NZ in WC especially in deciders 🤣 The NZ cricketers who have tormented India during due or die matches is quite long - Chris Cairns, Chris Harris, Scott Styris, Stephen Fleming, Nathan Astle, Brendon McCullum, Kane Williamson, Guptill, Roger Twose from batting mostly, Boult, Dion Nash, Vettori, Shane Bond, Darryl Tuffey with the ball.

Also this 07 special match was such that i had to force my daadi to take permission from my uncle for midnight TV watching. 🤣 I also know about the 2018 womens asia cup and 2020 u19 world also where BD defeated us.

P.S. Looks like you are new here. smiley36 Good to see another hardcore fan here. 😆 We are only 3/4 here. 🤗

lolzz... I started watching cricket just when Sanath Jayasurya used to torment our bowlers tournament after tournament, especially Venkatesh Prasad 🤣 Winning against SL from 96 until 99 was a big thing 😆 South Africa always tormented us, whether we played in India or South Africa - sometimes used to wonder, if there was any use for us to place SAF, we were going to lose anyway... so just used to enjoy the batting & enjoy SA bowling - couldn't tolerate SA batting - Kirsten, Hudson, Cullianan, Rhodes, Cronje, Kallis, Klusner = literally tormented our sides. Paul Adams was the only entertainment, with his bowling action. Donald was good to watch for the pace, Pollock for his bowling action.

I supported SA in all matches but against India & Pak mostly. My support was to India first, if India didn't play - then next comes Asian team - either Pak or SL, with Pak being first choice, after Sanath's batting 😆

2007wc I knew from first... this team was gonna lose bad, they had literally 4 openers in the top 4. Sehwag, Ganguly, Tendulkar, Uthappa - they got carried away with the series won against SL back home just before the WC & the qualifiers wins.
