The last time I will be responding regarding this issue - yes she dumped Vivek I thought that was obvious duh. Yes, it may have also been unceremonious like Vivek claimed , maan liya aapki Shanti ke liye.

Just because you don’t see the bad treatment doesn’t mean others don’t. But it’s still your prerogative to believe or dismiss the rumours.

But unless she was rumoured to have a child with Vivek in a 15 year old marriage and then dumping him or treating him horribly ,you still don’t get to equate the two.

lots of assumptions here about Ash and Abhishek's relationship. Seems to me that Abhishek can't win when it comes to some of Ash's fans.

Fact: Amitabh and Jaya have made very public and misogynistic comments with re: Aish walking behind and her nor using painkillers for childbirth.

Fact: Abhishek hasn't given a hit in years.

Fact: Aishwarya just gave a massive hit.

Fact: None of the Bachchans have spoken about PS success.

None of the above is an assumption.

Tbh, Abhishek seems like a decent enough guy to me. But his parents seem like nightmares.

None of this is a reason to jump to the conclusions I'm reading in this thread. You claim AB and Jaya hate women? You are taking their comments and reaching a conclusion which I don't see.

The fact that they made their own daughter marry at age 21 says a lot.

The fact that they allow their male heirs into the film industry and openly support them. But they don’t allow their daughters and don’t celebrate their daughter-in-laws’ success says a lot.

You don’t have to hate women in order to showcase signs of misogyny. It is just a part of backwards thinking that reflects. Amitabh literally once told Kajol he was proud of her for not working after she had a kid

You don't think *too posh to push* and *walking behind* are misogynistic?

Then you're right. You're not going to see what other members see.

Well, that's not misogyny. Someone believing its better for a woman to stay home and raise their child isn't a bad person. They just have different values than another person. If Amitabh said this I see it as him praising Kajol for making the sacrifice to stay home for her child. Seems to me Aishwarya made that choice too. I think that makes them strong women. If a man stayed home and the wife went to work I'd say the same thing about them.

It is definitely discrimination when you only allow your sons to work in movies. Women being caretakers is fine. But the expectation that women should do that is backward.

You're making way too many negative assumptions. Shweta was sent to the same fancy boarding schools as Abhishek. She probably didn't want to continue and go to college because most of these rich kids are lazy. She also says herself that she had no interest in acting and she also convinced her daughter not to go into acting. She doesn't regret anything like that nor was she forced away from it or else she wouldn't encourage Navya to do the same.

Apart from that, she is separated and lives with her parents which is fairly progressive. Actual regressive parents do not want their married daughters back at home and will not accept them. They also cheer a lot for her when she does some random things like writing a book or launching some clothing collection. Navya is 25 and lives with the Bachchans too and nobody is out there trying to force her to get married.

You guys need to stop acting like just because Aishwarya is a star outside that she needs to be treated like a queen and put on a pedestal at home. It's okay if they don't get along that much and mind their own business. They don't show much public support to her and similarly, she also doesn't show much public support for the Bachchans. She is not the bechaari abla naari her fans try to turn her into.

It is very clear who is making negative assumptions. She probably wanted to get married at age 21 when Abhishek was busy partying it up in Boston. She probably did not want to have a career until she reached her 40s. She probably wanted the arranged marriage to the guy she end up separating from. Yup everything is hunk dory.

Navya and Shweta both did not want acting careers. No coincidence that Jaya quit acting after marrying Amitabh. And Aishwarya's stardom is trying to be dimmed. See how that works.

Yup, they live under one roof? If you can not show support to family. Then what is the point of family?
