Jab We Met

Zindagi Na milegi dobara

Yeh Jawaani hai Diwani and many more dikhate hain ki how working for money is not all in life

Lekin ye log jo bhi karte hain uske liye paisa to chahiye

Merko pre vacation Arjun ZNMD sensible lagta hai

3 weeks leave in a year

Retire at 40 FIRE philosophy

Abhi mai college mein hu kuchh time baad, I'll start earning full time aur merko facilities chahiye

Ye taaron ke niche sone wala Chutiyapa unhi log ko accha lagega jo lifetime mein homeless hone ka Darr na ho ya kabhi power cut na hua ho

Apan ke yahan to 3-4 din light nahi ati thi jab ham 10-11 saal ke the, tab sab baahar hi sote the option nahi tha

What do you think?

As you have pointed out, all of the characters are conveniently rich. They forget that part when they are preaching the whole YOLO nonsense. 😆

On a side note, Hrithik in ZNMD always irks me. The lifestyle they gave him was of an IB/PE guy. But he was a broker in the film. Brokers ain't that busy.

Also on the flip side, Hrithik's lifestyle is absolutely not sustainable. You will completely burn out long before 40. And if you have kids by then, good luck living your life.

I didn’t throughout my 20s. I do, now. But it’s got nothing to do with Bollywood. You just realize time is more important than most things after you have been put through the ringer a few times. Then again, I am not entirely devoid of privilege so it’s probably much easier for me to sit here and say time is more valuable to me than dollar signs. Who knows

I think ye aap kis stage pe ho uss paar bhi depend karta h

Jaise life ke iss stage main jab mera career sirf shuru hi hua haa . I releate to bunny . Woh ambitious , hardworking and focussed tha. Jo ki iss stage main hona bahut zaroori h

Job hona toh bahut hi zarppri h. Uske bina toh zindagi chalegi hi nahi . Apni identity hone bhi bahut important h

Paar ek time ayega when priorities will change tab kaam ke saath saath aur cheezon pe dhayan dene bhi zaroori hoga. Taking care of your parents. Spending more time with them. etc

Iss stage pe Naina wali philosophy kaam aati. Life main chahe jitna bhi try karo kuch na kuch toh chotegi hi. Jo nahi woh hasil karne ki hor main . Jo aapke paas pehli se hi haa usse gawane bhi sahi nahi h

Ambition aur focussed hona zaroori h. Paisa ke bina insaan nahi jee sakta. Paar family bhi important h. Unke bina bhi hum nahi reh sakte

It all about priorities which changes with age and circumstances

Living in the moment is okay but life is long. If you are just starting out, make sure you save. All these movies show characters and circumstances that are unrealistic. If you have a safety net to fall back on, i.e, your parents etc then it's fine. It gets easier but always make sure you save even in your 20s. Doesn't have to be a lot but save.

This is easier said than done but pay attention to your mental health. Your seniors and peers will always say that you should put in 15 hour days, but it will worsen your mental health. don't work for free, save and have boundaries around work hours. good luck. 😊

I think I can relate to Saif's character in Love Aaj Kal

He was so ambitious he sacrificed love....but then he faced burn-out and decided that lifestyle was not sustainable.

Work-life balance is so important. I cannot stress it enough.

As for living in the moment, the definition differs from person to person. For one person, living in the moment could mean partying and drinking till the wee hours of the morning. For me personally, it's about curling up with a good book and a cup of coffee.

There's no one-size-fits-all approach.
