Are you looking forward to Mrs. Bachchan's Ponniyan Selvan?

😉 I know it is not a Bollywood movie, but are we looking forward to this magnum opus?
It looks like a rehash of Devdas/Jodhaa Akbar/Chokher Bali.

Do you think Mrs. Bachchan can still carry a role?

Definitely looking forward to it. I think Ash does good in historical roles, so I have a feeling she'll pull it off.

The only thing that turns me off is that it's tamil. My ears are so used to Telegu that Tamil feels weird.

Of course. Who doesn't love a proper prince and princess story? This one has spies,conspiracies,strong clever women and noble warriors, multiple love stories where the protagonists doesn't whine and do melodrama. The Devdas in this movie goes to war and does something useful instead of whining and destroying himself in wine and women. And that too in a culture where polygamy is the norm for Royals.

Even minor characters have proper arcs. Plus its Mani Ratnam and ARR. Aish is a bonus. The movie inspired me to read the books.

Since it is dubbed in multiple languages including Hindi, you can opt for Telugu over Tamil.
