Television actor Shivani Gosain believes that while the entertainment industry is evolving, television still has a long way to go in experimenting with content. Known for her work in Rangbaazi Dilon Ki, Shivani shared her thoughts on how storytelling differs across platforms and why change is necessary.

She said, "In the web and movies the industry has definitely become more open to experimenting and coming up with good layered characters, but on TV it is still missing." According to her, digital platforms and films are exploring deeper narratives, but television continues to rely heavily on familiar formats.

She further added, "We still see a lot of outdated, typical, and old fantasy-based stories, and strangely, it works with viewers, especially in small cities and villages. TV needs to evolve." Shivani pointed out that, despite the repetition, such content continues to find an audience, slowing the pace of change in television storytelling.

Reinvention, Responsibility, and the Digital Shift

Speaking about her personal journey, Shivani said life experiences, maturity, and spiritual beliefs have helped her grow both as a person and an artist. She highlighted the importance of adapting to the industry’s changing nature. "An artist needs to keep reinventing themselves with a fast-changing entertainment landscape; otherwise, they will become lost in the history," she said.

Shivani also stressed the importance of having a backup plan alongside acting. "With acting, we all should always have some backup plan and skill too. It can be good for cloth, health, writing, crafts, or anything, but you should learn and keep yourself busy, calm, and have another source of income," she explained.

She acknowledged the role of digital platforms in shaping modern careers. "The way digital platforms shape the longevity and reach now, it has become part of our life the way mobile became a necessity for everyone. We are gradually making it part of our daily routine to stay connected and up to date. And so they are giving more visibility to actors and artists," Shivani shared.

At the same time, she believes actors must be mindful of the stories they choose. "We all should take the responsibility to set social ethical standards high. If I get the opportunity to choose, I definitely go for meaningful stories, teach self-esteem, mental and social growth, and self-confidence, and connect you to respectful and progressive culture and life," she said.

"I love to choose equality-based, progressive, today's life's relatable stories and roles," Shivani concluded.
