1) One hymn refers to Agni as a child whose birth was kept a secret; his mother, the queen, concealed him from his sire -\

Amrita kept Shiva away from Bramhansh and in all probability even from Dev

2) Sometimes he is said to have devoured his parents at birth: this seems to signify that he consumed the fire sticks from which holy fire was produced by friction

Shiva thinks it was his fire power that killed his mother. He feels guilty about it

3)

Dawn, with its darkness-consuming fires, and starry Night, are the sisters of Agni; "they celebrate his three births, one in the sea, one in the sky, one in the waters (clouds)". Typical of the Oriental mind is the mysterious reference to Agni's "mothers" owing their origin to him. The poet sings:

Who among you hath understood the hidden (god)?
The calf has by itself given birth to its mothers.

Amrita, Shiva s mother is said to be Jalastra

No offense, but I really don't think Ayaan or the other writers thought that deep. They just copied stuff from here and there.

Would have been great had they actually taken inspiration from such texts. Would have added so many layers to the story.

That s your opinion. I respect it. To me, Ayan seems very passionate about this project

I can clearly see many mythological references. Was the movie flawless? No

But it's just the first part. They can do more in part 2

We have no way to know Ayan s research process to

Either way, there is no harm in theorizing

Mythology and making/reading theories about it are two of my favorite things

This is my prediction on part 2 story. As this is spoilers thread so I am giving it here

I feel Dev is not a bad guy as he was shown in the first part. I don't think Dev killed Amrita. Yes, Amrita kept Shiva away from the Brahmansh and there must be a strong reason which will be revealed in part 2 or 3.

I find this Guruji guy more mysterious than Dev. What if he's the actual villain. 😅 The way he was blackmailing Shiva to join the Brahmansh looked weird to me. Also, I felt the story he told of Shiva's parents was not completely true or half baked. Somehow he wanted Shiva to be with him so that he can use his power for his own benefit.

I also think Shiva-Isha story is that easy as it looks like. I noticed one thing. Whenever Shiva tried to save that artist guy Isha would do something and then Shiva's mind gets diverted to her and the artist would be left alone to defend himself. There's something mysterious about Isha too. What if Isha is Guruji's daughter and she and her father are playing some big games against Dev and Shiva. 🤣

I remember Bahubali 1 was average movie but the second part was much better and everything started making sense. I hope Brahmastra 2 also gets better and more and more interesting.

Bahubali 1 was average? The theories folks are coming up with to justify the poor screenplay of the movie. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Karan greenlighted Ayan’s idea 8years ago…Karan’s fault was to announce it far too early (but I give him that he could not forsee Covid)…in any way, shooting started in the beginning of 2018 – with a break of more than a year and many retakes (a kind of “many cooks…” – even Rajamouli’s father had something to say…and was followed).
Ranbir, I don’t know…he may have got really bored to act in front of a green wall…or he was stoned sometimes…
Alia, I suppose that her role was deliberately written like that …she may be a tool of the dark forces and has – at least initially – to pretend to love him…the goal: to get the broken pieces of the Brahmastra.
Dialogues: I also think that they are made (too much) simplistic - to reach an audience as large as possible.
Cliffhanger: not only one but many…almost no story-part has a closure and there is a perceptible lack of information.
VFX: Really made to make this movie an event to watch in a theatre…done by DNEG (4 oscars, based in UK and Kanada) with its ReDefine wing in Mumbai and London (no wonder that the coasts went through the roof). Good (but a bit exhausting, imo).
Mouni Roy: fitting the character to a “T”…will not forgive Karan that he didn’t involve her into the promotions (he largely prefered to profit from the fact that Alia got pregnant and then married… Ranbir not eager to do so, Alia did the best possible).
Amitji: I guess he experienced a lot he didn’tlike…
Karan: Gosh, how much he has changed…and n o t to the better (imo).

Oh, “forgot” ShahRukh!!! Highlight at the beginning! Just a “wow”-cameo…and – maybe? – he hasn’t died… (wonder if Ayan loves Swades...)

Yes, meanwhile I read how deeply Ayan is connected by family to the Indian (and also Hindi) filmindustry. I was surprised to learn that he has a Kolkata based film background. What did happen during the years 2014 to 2021 that the artistic outcome in the writing departement (and for the lead pair also in the acting one) didn't match the other departments?!

Now having watched the movie for a second time (in another city), I've the firm impression that Alia's role was thought as another one (and not the one we get to see after an hour).

1rst - she wears either Dev's ring or a duplicate, so there is a connection between her and Dev.

2nd - Isha may very well be a member of those who work for the goal to resurrect Dev with the help of the Brahmastra. I got the feeling that Junoon and Isha are on the same path - there is a kind of acknowledging each other when they cross each other the first and second time. I even thought that maybe Junoon is supervising Isha.

3rd - Alias acting BEFORE admitting that she (as Isha) loves him, too, is far better although restraint...for me, it was like she tried to get specific information...it would have been rather easy to get knowledge about the growing-up and the whereabouts of the baby in the burnt house absolutely (physically) unscarred. That he would fall in love with her at first sight was a (growingly disturbing) bonus for her mission.

4th - Isha had the possibility to avert the rejoining of the Brahmastra (like a pizza!)...she did not. Junoon stating that Isha is a weak person is right...and the audience get to see a "weak" Alia on screen as the love for Shiva makes HER weak (wheras Shiva's love for Isha makes him strong).

5th - Isha is the only one to know that Shiva has a big shell that belonged to Amrita and it is she who fetches it and brings it to the Ashram where it serves Junoon's purpose. So, she is still torn between doing what is HER mission and her concern (and love) for Shiva becoming more and more a "damsel in distress" (for him ... and many, many spectators).

What do you think?

bw and kjo, his cliques, being in the same circle with no inspirations of his past background or roots happened

you see sparks of their bengal background when kajol actually made some unconventional choices and didnt go the glamour route or rani always aimed for roles of substance with no inhibitions

all great conjectures and will be good if they put more thought and depth into the sequel, 1st is more possible for me, they are too consumed by the the real life love story ideal pair to make alia evil, which is why casting all these real life pairs is never a good idea, I think even for other parts better to go for new actors then deepika or RS types

but others will make it heavily inspired by Harry potter

Yes it's average. When I call Bahubali 1 an average movie that doesn't mean I am defending Brahmastra. Come up with your original id and quote my tweet.

Calm down. The truth must have really hurt. Another truth which you will have to swallow is that you are not that important that someone cares enough to create a new ID to interact with you. You truly are delusional.
