That's not how this works. You transfer-price it. Fox can't just give it off to Disney, Star Television and HotStar for free. You estimate the market valuation and charge your sister studios accordingly. Otherwise they would just sell it to some other studio and distribution service. If it holds on Monday, it will easily break-even.
Can you please elaborate on this? Isn't transfer pricing like internal pricing mainly to fix responsibility? Ultimately, you can't profit from selling to yourself (sister companies)? Wouldn't selling to another studio be actual revenue?
You are right, The final profit for Disney would be on basis of what they recover from theatrical, streaming revenue and television revenue. But, Brahmastra's PnL would reflect the rights valuation regardless. Because the other big reason you do transfer pricing is to ensure you aren't understating margins on one unit (Fox Studios in this case) and overstating on another (Hotstar, Star, Disney etc. here). You would ideally value them on what you could have gotten from an outside studio and incorporate that.Originally posted by: PranPriye

Some act more desperate than Kangana just to make it look like the movie flopped and the same time they are desperately want their favourite in part 2.😆🤣 so if the movie is a big flop why do you want your favourite in such a bad big flop?

The same media and trade analysts were hailed when they declared Shamshera and LSC as disasters...🤣Now they are all wrong.😆
@bold...Irony dies..😆
Do people here have some common sense or no??
Just because Star Studios produced Brahmastra doesn't mean it will go for free ob Disney+ Hotstar and Disney+ worldwide.
Like get some sense. This will mess up the economics of everything.
This is what happens when you learn a concept of 2x the budegt that was relevant 7-8 yrs back and apply it to new movies.
Some people might not know here but even some big MCU movies don't recover their budget from theatrical business.
But hey ,carry on if this gives u peace
Also Katrina fans talking about flower pot role. I have to laugh.
Did they even watch the movie? Katrina will be lucky to have such a big and important role in big blockbuster where her stardom actually counts.And this is just a start for Alia.
Katrina has barely given hits outside of Khans. And want to talk about Alia. Like be serious for once

I'm mostly surprised by Mumbai's reception to the film. The city used to be one of the biggest centres for Bollywood films but while seats are sold out in the North, it's not the same in Mumbai.Most peculiar is that the seats are only turning yellow on the particular day of the show and not beforehand signalling a drop in advanced bookings. Like if you check the booking status today in Mumbai it's all yellow but change it to Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and it's all green and completely empty. Even the whole ' PVR opening shows at midnight' they promoted in Mumbai didn't work because all the theatres for the 2:30 midnight shows were empty yesterday so they stopped those shows as well from tomorrow.
And?? I can quote 10 members who watched it in housefull theaters...😆
The only context I am seeing(in general)....is Bramhastra needs to fail...😆
