However, in order for something to be profitable, it must earn more than it costs to make it, so for this movie to be a success, it should ideally earn more than it costs to make it. All other methods used by trade analysts or production houses are simply shady in order to build a perception that a movie is a success in the eyes of the audience.

Now, about Brahmastra, I believe it is a high-budget production considering it took years to make it and vfx in every scene😆 so it is premature to declare it a success until it does business more than its cost of production.

It has over 400 crore budget. Can someone tell me if it has crossed even 100 crore yet? All I see is desperation from the makers and it’s fans to calling it success when it hasn’t even done half of its budget yet.

OK, I get that.

I’m still curious what your mathematical calculations or estimations are for how much it needs to break even.

For a big budget movie like on this scale and considering the reception is average-positive-mixed.

150cr will go for Satellite and Streaming rights and everything else around it conservatively.

Music album has been very successful so far as fan be seen so conservative estimate also puts 50cr for Music rights also including some brand partnership etc..

That leaves a budget of 200cr.

Considering it will make around 250cr in India. That is Distribution share of 132.5cr (55% is usually the share overall) First weekend it's high reaching even 60% and then goes slowly down.

As Disney distributed themselves, so it's all their money.

Leaving you around 70cr which will easily be achieved by international box office which is trending good here+ International Satellite deals and all.

Hope this answers your question.

And yes that 150cr Satellite and Streaming figure will be on paper as Movie is not fully produced by Star , Dharma ,Ranbir and DNeG are also contributor.

Your first post said producers get 60/40 in the U.S. Isn’t that even lower than my estimation of 75/25?

For the record, Gangubai was not a hit.

New Id ?? What if only u did research.

Gangubai was a hit and box office and even Netflix speaks for that. But anyways I understand it must be hard to accept that Alia was not over after that 2020

Budget estimated is 410 cr. excluding marketing n promotions .

Producer share + distribution share = hit r flop

They are not looking for profits . it has to cover losses , so inflating nos n manipulating n pr to establish it’s hit in viewers mind to get revenue n cover losses .to less d losses .

Yeah right. 😆

Considering it's budget is 400+ Cr, has the movie even come to a point where it could break even? The statellite rights + global grossings don't bleed into the movie being a hit at the BO. Domestic earnings on theater screens is what constitutes to a movie bring declared hit. Bramhastra may have performed slightly better than what was predicted but it's nowhere close to being a hit. Anyway all of this is moot, the real test begins on monday, whether the movie can sustain the trend come Monday is crucial.

150cr for streaming rights? May I ask where you came up with this number? Same with music rights?

It has earned 125crs in the weekend. And I bet it will trend really well in the weekdays too! 🥳

Btw no one is desperate here. The public i.e. aam janta is showing unimaginable craze for this film and making it a HIT!
