Why is Vinu being shown as adopted?

This has been the query on many minds. Having discussed debated argued articulated thoughts about PL and V dynamics, one out of the box thought stuck me.

If and by chance if the serial continues further, then these kids can be relied upon to carry the romantic angle further. Savi, the sole heir of the Chavan line, has no genetic connect with Vinu, an adopted child.

Can someone think of a storyline after 10-15 yrs? Savi and Vinu, bump into each other in college, fall in love...

Even now, they are being projected as friends. Not as siblings.
