Ranveer is working with different genres and directors is good. That was my whole point. Ranveer is not a great actor, he is an okay one with potential to become good. He is a good entertainer. When you are not a great actor working with great directors will hone your skill.

He was okay in Lootera but Sonakshi was better. Except in Ram Leela and to a certain extent in Bajirao, where he was good but Supriya Pathak and in Bajirao, Priyanka stole the show. He doesn't stand out in movies. In gully boy, Sid stole the show. Padmavat was SLB worse film so won't go there. In DDD Shefali stole the show and hell even Farhan with his small scene stole the film. Again in 83, he was good but not great, the ensemble cast was great.

The fact that Vicky came with his family and Ranveer with his shows that they knew they would win. Ranveer did not deserve for Padmavat, Shahid did for Kabir Singh and Ranveer did not deserve for 83, Vicky and Sid did.

Let’s see. My prediction is unless jealousy and Bollywood insider politics comes in the way there is nothing stopping Vicky Kaushal from the rising. He has actual exceptional talent. Not just ok ok over exaggerated talent like people like Ranbir.

I mean if Sid can prove that this one performance wasn’t just a fluke for him and can continue to give more great performances. Then there is nothing stopping me from me rooting for him as well. I root for genuine talent, hard work and merit. Not a strict insiders or outsiders. Or even talent when good scripts have been served to them on a platter. Which is why I really really admire Vicky because he is both a combination of extreme talent and tremendous hard work. He gives me hope I can achieve what I want if I work hard and I am competent.

Maybe it was just a lack of opportunities for Sidharth. As Kjo wasn’t working as hard to get him good scripts as he was for Alia, Varun or Jhanvi. The fact that he had to bring Shershah to Dharma productions itself is a statement to how Dharma productions might have been treating him compared to insiders. But looking at his entire body of work as a whole. I am still convinced that Shershah was a fluke. If he can prove me wrong I will openly state it here. You can mark my word s.

p.s. I also still feel if it wasn’t for his good looks he wouldn’t have has many fans rooting for him. Once again if he can prove me wrong I will proudly admit my fault here.

@Bold, fair enough. But now you are changing your narrative of your previous post where you claimed Sid fans called him mediocre and pity him.

Vicky is very talented. But claiming that if he doesn’t rise to the top it’s other people working against him, and yet at the same time saying Sid fans will never admit anything against Sid, is quiet a flip flop of a statement to make. Vicky’s horror flick with Bhumi flopped. Manmarizyaan flopped. Let’s see how GMN will do. Shashank is no Shoojit Sricar. If talent was enough Rajkumar Rao would be one of the biggest stars in Bollywood today.

Sid is very good looking. But I don’t think people root for him because of his good looks. Aditya Roy Kapoor is very good looking too yet he seems to be behind Sid at this point. I’m sure Sid’s looks helps him a lot but it’s not the sole reason he has a fan base just like being Katrina’s husband isn’t the only reason Vicky is popular.

Vicky Kaushal should have won in both categories. Period

Sid is mediocre at best. Just because he acted better according to his standards does not mean he deserves to win an award for it. Ranveer did not earn it either

Sardar Udham's success and appreciation came before he married Katrina. As did his national award. He hasn't given a single bad performance yet. Putting him in the same league as Sidharth who gave one good performance is a huge stretch many neutrals would agree.

Once again someone who carried a 340 crore grosser on his shoulders. Held his own in films like Sanju (he won the filmfare for best supporting actor). Held his own in Raazi. Then had an OTT success like Sardar Udham.
To someone who had Kapoor and Sons then Shershah as their only two success are in the same league as popularity ok ?

Look It’s not that I don’t like Sidharth. I do think his fans are overselling him.
