Blame star families if you must. But Alia was the star of 1 of the only Hindi film hits of the year. How is she responsible for any of it ?

Bollywood movies have extremely bad story and scripts. I am including any movie from insiders and outsiders. Some are not even worth watching.

Second is glorification of male leads . I have no interest in watching a movie revolving around male actors stardom.

OTT platforms have better series and movies.

Agar koi outsider ho bhi, they aren’t promoted or given same sort of big movies like Nepo kids. Also this Nepotism worsened ever Since Alia debuted in BW. After her everyone started following the lead 🤢

Why no one cried nepotism when industry kids like Aamir, Raveena, Salman, Kajol, Sunny, Bobby Deol, Karishma, Sanjay Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Kareena, Abhishek, Rani, Kunal Kapoor, Saif, Pratibha Sinha, Puru Rajkumar, Fardeen, Farha, Tabu, Twinkle, Rinke Khanna, Esha Deol, Tusshar Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Tanisha, Uday Chopra, Vivek Oberoi, Shraddha Kapoor etc flooded the industry in 80s, 90s and 2000s?

Why no cries against nepotism earlier when Kapoor Khandaan men were in every second film?

Even music was ruled by families like Burmans, Mangeshkars, sons of Kishore and Rafi also came out there.

And why no talk of nepotism when South films have all nepo kids like Ram Charan, Prabhas, Rana, Allu Arjun etc? Which outsider is there in those hit South films?

Woh sab time pe public ko nepotism ka matlab bhi nahin maaloom tha. Doosra, tabhi social media bhi famous vimous nahin tha. Toh magazines mein mast stories chhap ke kuchh bhi story veery banaake public ko mast mamu banate the.

Abhi utna shendi nahin laga sakte public ko.

E.g. Pehle Tusshaar Kapoor ko screen pe dekhku, sirf dost log ko frustration nikalte the - 'bh$$$$$d is ch$$iye ko kaise mil rele lead role". Abhi poori duniya ku bata sakte. Aur possible ki Tusshaar Kapoor bhi apne value thoughts padh le khudich.

Social media was there when Ranbir, Sonam, Adhyan Suman etc debuted.

No one bashed them.

In terms of looks even Ajay was bashed but no one called him nepo kid. Rather gave him all time to improve self.

How do you claim no one knew meaning of nepotism earlier? Bhai bhatijawaad or nepotism was always a known issue and corruption in India.

Aapke jaise log jinki English achhi hongi unko maloom honga. Merko nahin maloom tha. Abhi lekin bhot log ko maloom padela hai.

Public mein awareness aane mein bhot time lagi, pan abhi bhotse public mein awareness ayelay.

Sonam etc log bach gaye unke time pe public utni shyaani nahin thi. Aur Ranbir ke paas to phir bhi thoda bhot talent hai, toh public usko utni gaali nahich dengi.

BW forum opened my eyes. it’s not the above reasons BW is failing. its certain section of moviegoers who stopped watching Khans movies all of a sudden. How dare they?

Khans failure = BW failure

I think it's kind of mix of all the factors and very bad filmmaking. From the last few years the quality of movies coming out of Bollywood has gone down drastically. I used to be so fond of going to theatres and watching movies but I no more feel the same pull. But the mediocre movies still worked in pre pandemic era where audience didn't have any other options.

Post pandemic due to ott platforms people got exposed to a lot of good content that too in comfort of their homes. So some might have become just lazy to go to theatres or the movies just don't attract them enough to go out to the theatres. Also, people do seem to have become careful about how they spend their money. Lot of people lost their jobs and had to go through hardships in the lockdown so they might just want to save their money. Anyway most movies will be released in ott in 2 months or so.

Moreover, the attitude of Bollywood also seems to be a factor. They have taken audience granted for too long and act all entitled. They are like whatever we make people have to see. Also like it or not SSR's death did seem to make some big damage to Bollywood reputation. Lot of people seem disillusioned with the industry as a whole. Above all this Bollywood just refuses to improve. Instead of improving their scripts, content they are busy looking for other reasons like intolerance or whatever. Look at how kjo behaves, now he seems to openly flaunt that he supports star kids. We are being forced down with more star kids who can't act to save their lives. If they can do whatever they want so can audience. Whether bycotts have proper reasons or not it is still their right to watch a movie or not.

The filmakers also need to make more low budget movies. More then half the budget seems to be eaten up by these big stars. Give less to stars and concentrate on writing rather. Now people seem to be caring more about good content than who is starring in the movie. If WOM is good films do work. This bycott, intolerance blah blah are just reasons for Bollywood to hide their mediocrity. They just need to make original good and interesting movies instead of trying to copy a certain formula.
