Offtopic: Fifty Shades of Grey - Page 2

The books succeeded because they were written as Twilight fan fic. Readers were imagining Edward and Bella😆. Otherwise, there's tons of better written erotica out there without the heroine going "oh, my" on every other page.

There's a reason Fifty Shades was called Mommy P_rn.

Have read the books (the writing could have been better) and seen the movies

Didn’t like the casting at first but they grew one me.
I think the movie was a good introduction to bdsm.

Dakota hot but movie trash 😆

Never understood the hype behind the book.

Seen the same story 100 times but written way better

Yeah. EL James wrote it first as Twilight fan fic on some forum. 😆 It was very popular, but some members began to complain it was too explicit for Edward and Bella. So she took it off the forum, Ctrl-H-ed the names and went to a publisher. By then, word had spread. Most of the initial readers were Twilight fans looking for Erotica on E and B. It was like yeah, yeah, Christian and Anastasia, but we know it's really Edward and Bella. Then, it just took off.
