Helping your kid = nepotism? 😆 My parents helped me too in life, they didn't get me into the career I'm in. 😆

lol I would not worry about these guys losing incentive. They make more than enough money to keep making movies for a long time. Your argument is actually as absurd as saying Google will not have any incentive to be in business if the government regulated them. In fact the govt does put regulations on businesses from time to time, and the Googles of industry keep thriving. No one worries about capitalism dying and socialism coming up because of these regulations.

In fact, the kind of nepotism you seem to be fine with are what we have in socialist societies, where its all about cronies getting ahead. So its rather cute to see the contorted connections you seem to be making between anti-nepotism and socialism, when the reverse is true. In fact, regulations that protect consumers while ensuring that companies cant engage in monopolistic behavior are an essential part of capitalism and functioning market-based economies.

So how is SRK helping Suhana to get a movie any different...she has this dream of becoming an actor and SRK helped her.....If my kid wanted to be an actor and I had the means...I would have done the same....why should Suhana not get a chance to be in a movie if that is what she wants?

Suppose a rich kid wants to be a doctor...and their parents make available the coaching books etc needed...and maybe a smarter but poor kid doesn't have access to all that might not be able to make it....would the parent look for a poor kid and say...I will be providing help to the other kid first because he more deserving??

I know that the doctor's need to pass an exam before they become a doctor....let the Govt make some kind of minimum qualification necessary for actors also....😆 The Govt controls what is shown in a movie via the censor board...they can do the same for who gets to work in the movie....but still the same will be true then also....the rich actors will make coaching and help available for their kids....poor ones won't have access....but then it will not be considered nepotism right...like we helping our kids is not nepotism...😆

Not the right analogy, blue-ice, star kids don't work, earn or prove themselves to get their role, it's handed to them, entitlement, it would be like making a doctors son a doctor simply cause he's the son of a doctor. That is in essence, what happens in bollywood, and why it's in such a pathetic state at the moment.

That is why I am saying that for acting also some type of minimum qualification should be needed....the analogy was not for the professions but what you said about parents helping kids is not nepotism?? The analogy was how parents help the kids to achieve their dreams.....they don't go and look for a more deserving kid....they help their own to succeed...

the problem here is also that unlike other professions where even a narayanmurthy's son or a doctor's daughter have to still get an education and a qualification before they can join the profession, here there is no prerequistite, anybody can walk in if they have the connections and become an actor

auditions is an attempt to create a system, of course they can be rigged but atleast it is an attempt. bollywood has made such a mockery of it, that even after auditions sometimes only the star kids make it.

also earlier, it was only the top stars kids who became stars, dharmendra, sunil dutt, nargis, raj kapoor or amitabh, which in some convoluted way just was there and nobody cared. now it is actually not about whether your parents are stars, i mean in which world are mahesh bhatt (he still made some good movies) and more importantly chunky pandey and sanjay kapoor stars, while sunny deol's kid's debut nobody cares about and he gave hits like ghayal and gadar

its basically sucking up to and being in certain circle and doing pr like crazt which seems to help

No one is saying star kids shouldn’t want to become actors. But make it a fair playing field. Hold real auditions and let them audition in the same manner that an unknown face and body auditions in front of the casting team. Is that even possible in Bollywood anymore? I don’t think so. And the mere fact that this might not even be doable in Bollywood where star kids get exposed and “photographed” by paparazzi 2-3 years before they are even signed for a movie speaks of how all the big stars have turned the whole system into a monopolizing mess.

Remember Ranbir interview, he is afraid of auditions to go to Hollywood 😆 that itself says you never gave an audition in your life but got everything on silver plate due to nepo.

I agree let all nepo kids give auditions and get role in fair game. You can use your nepo links for getting till auditions and after that only merit works.

Are you kidding me?? He got his first movie in a silver platter but he has proven that he is an amazing actor and he deserves what he got....he is probably the best one of his generation....not every nepo kid is non deserving...we have the likes of Ranbir and Hritik ....waise toh Ranveer is also a product of nepotism...but audience liked him and he is a good actor so he is there.

Sunny Deol's son was not rejected because of lack of PR...Sunny promoted his movie everywhere but the audience rejected him.....the audience rejects those who they don't like...

After series of flops like BV, jagga jasoos.. do you think any outsider will get movies like Sanju or brahmastra?

As some one said right connection and right PR is the mantra to establish nepo kids these days not the auditions. People rejected many like AB, Arjun kapoor.. but still they are getting movies, how ?

Help nepo kids to join best art schools and learn acting and other departments work but leave them at auditions gate and let them make way on their merit..
