Are you serious? You are asking the government to regulate art and movies in a democracy (technically. I’m not getting into a political discussion about the current state of affairs and free media etc)? That’s not even a slippery slope. That’s a full on bad precedent.

The fact that some think only government intervention will change things means that even they realize that the powerful of the industry are not willing to give up their power for the betterment of art and film. As others said a few pages back, maybe after a deluge of disasters and financial losses they’ll start looking at quality over “keeping it in the family” mentality. But that has to happen for a continuous period of time and at a large scale.

But this Baaghi lady went from outsider to all in the family overnight. 😆

It seems outsiders who enter Bollywood are instantly corrupted lol. What can be done. Maybe even people who start out caring about “art” eventually are just in it for themselves.

What? So Bollywood shouldn’t look for someone better than a Ranbir because someone better probably won’t be “the best” anyway? This is going into the slippery slope of declaring star kids entitled to these roles because a proven best is impossible to find.

I mean what is the solution....get the Govt. involved...get some basic rules ....the Censor Board already messes with the art....why not one for the artist too.....KJo and other star parents are not going to be morally correct and give the chance to a more deserving outsider over their own kid....any more than we would prefer another talented kid over our kid.....the world doesn't work on whims and fancies.....nepotism bothers you...get something done about it...instead of taking potshots at KJo, nepo kids and SRKians...😆

I didn't say they shouldn't look....I said that IF will always be there no matter what you do.....do u think people won't bash the outsiders....there will always be disgruntled humans somewhere...😆

Hold auditions. It has been done before. Aamir held nation wide auditions for Dangal which started with thousands of hopefuls from across the country. Except for Fatima who was a child star and more or less disappeared, all the other three were absolute unknowns from different parts of India. It can be done. But the likes of KJo, or Nadiadwala, or now even Zoya and Excel are forgoing audition in favor of doing their friends favors 🤷🏽‍♀️.

The problem is

If a person who auditioned ever gets power I doubt they’ll make others audition. They start giving favors also
