Aise nepo kids ka bheja short circuit ho gayela hai lagatay.
Chhapri nepo kid ko lenga toh public bhi gaali denge... ekdum baraabar hisaab hai.
Sairat (marathi) picture ki heroine Rinku Rajgaru ne ek number acting kiya... chhote se sheher se ayeli hai modest family bg. KJo raja ne us picture ke remake mein Jahhnvi rajkumari ko liya. Result? Puppy, matlab kutte ka bachcha. Public do gaali hich dengi na. Aarti toh nahin utaarengi.
Chindhi nepotism karo toh gaali khao. Justify karke sirf aur gaali milenga, respect nahin.
Ch$$iye log hain saale...

When you laud the fact about an actor being a self made and parade it as a badge of honour, then immediately do a 180 and scream but "private money is private money", it takes away any credibility your opinion holds. Your contradictory thoughts don't hold any water when you entertain ideas of opposite spectrum for a single entity.
Don't go off into tangents of theivery or criminal acts. Deflecting from the topic at hand won't just for the sake of arguing has never done anyone any good. The point is not that we are demanding for any producer/director to spend their money as per our wish. Bollywood being a collective industry the decisions of a single entity trying to favour one player in the market would affect the end product and the rest of the industry. It creates an imbalance where few individuals weild excess power restricting the entry of new players to even the playing field so healthy competition grows. Know what happens in such situations? The market stagnates until it collapses. The private money argument absolutely doesn't hold here as films are money making businesses. They are not isolated give and take transactions where you write a cheque and that's the end of it. It's an employment generator running with the support of crores.
Movie business is not a monopoly, it's an oligopoly where a single decision creates a domino effect.
Also for the love of God, do not promote and say something is alright just because previously an industry or a larger part of life is already imitating it. Wrong is wrong. Nepotism is wrong, no matter who does it. End of.
A person can hold more than 1 idea at the same time, both equally valid.
1. SRK made himself. Which is great.
2. The money he made is his own to spend as he pleases (within the law). A fact.
Not sure where you see a contradiction.
Private money is under the control of the individual who earned it. This right has to be absolutely upheld, and anything else is taking what doesn't belong to oneself. ie, thievery. So, no. Not deflection.
Bollywood is not a collective industry. As in any other sector, there are producers (in the sense of those who produce goods), employees, consumers. Yes, the people who put up the cash will get to say what products are sold. Whether or not the consumer likes it and buys the goods has always been the major agent for change in producer behavior. If the audience is watching nepo kids, it's going to get more nepo kids.
If there is an imbalance, and there is, the onus is on the government to fix it. And not fix it by bringing down the people who have already made it. By helping up those who haven't. In other words, equalize opportunity instead of equalizing misery.
For the love of God, what previous industry did I cite to justify Bollywood nepotism? I basically said it's a fact of life. Nobody, no human, no animal, not even the anti nepo group here on BWF will work on anything if they're told what they make will go to someone else's pocket.
And yeah... one more thing. A person can dislike nepotism and understands it hurts progress in many fields, including the arts. A person can also believe that the answer is not to browbeat the successful people for promoting their own progeny. It won't work anyway, but the market will work... eventually.
i understand where you are comimg from but education is still governed by controls. example, a private college once it uses an exam to grant seats has to still give the toppers seats, it cannot give it away to anybody it wishes
the difference here is that educational institions have to declare and follow a system if they want to be recognised by govt and grant degrees while film "industry" there are no rules upfront you have to follow or transparency
That's actually my point. The govt forces certain things in return for recognition. It can't force more because then private enterprise will have no incentive. The taxpayer community sometimes doesn't understand it and demands more and more and more in private business. Then the business shuts down. Socialism in a nutshell.
I will say this much
Bhagyashree being an outsider and getting roles for her husband. An her son becoming an entitled spoiled brat. It really shows that an outsider can become an insider
nepo kids who look so obviously mediocre and unqualified need to shut the eff up and let their work do the talking. that's the least they can do.
but I guess freedom of speech allows them the right to make an @$$ outta themselves. 🤷♀️

You're presenting a strawman, we're talking about a system/culture the favours and promotes relatives and friends at the expense of more talented individuals, a system that has taken complete stranglehold over an industry, to the extent that it is pretty much unparalleled anywhere else.
So if you're proud of the fact SRK is an outsider, but then support a system that prevents other outsiders to make it like SRK, that literally makes you a hypocrite.
And let's face it, if SRK were to try his luck today, he would never have made it.

Do you think that Jay Shah is the Chairman of BCCI because of his talent in sports and there was no one better than him....bolna tak toh aata nahi bande ko??😆...kahan nahi hai nepotism....while we close our eyes to the ones we love ...we jump on the ones we don't...not saying its correct.....but supporting it for our favorites and bashing the ones we don't like makes everyone a hypocrite...
Anyways.....SRK would have made it today also...regardless.....The man is 100% pure charisma and charm....He would have made it in any field....if someone like Kartik made it....SRK would have done for sure.

But that's what SRK fans are doing, right? supporting nepotism in order to justify his kids in Bollywood. 😆 Nepotism is every where, yeh that's true, but that's like saying crime is everywhere, we'd rather live in an area with less crime than more, in the same way an industry with less nepotism would still better for everyone, even if we can't completely wipe it out.
May be in other fields, but I highly doubt it in the film industry, the doors are pretty much closed to outsiders now. The 90s was the last era where outsiders had a real chance to establish themselves. The charisma and charm came with the confidence that came with the success, he was never considered good looking, he obviously grew in to his looks and looks better now with the grooming.

I would have supported the right of a parent to support his kid with their own money....SRK or no SRK..I have done that forever.....but I guess since I am an SRK fan...this will fall on deaf years and it will be assumed that I am doing this because of SRK...and I am perfectly OK with it......because people think the way they think and there is no changing it.....and this is a BW forum and I I will be judged by whose fan I am .....we are shallow like that....thinking that our lives and our moral standings depend on the stars who we are fans of.....kya karein....main bhi karti hoon...sab karte hain😆.......Me supporting my own kids...trying to help them achieve their dreams and then going ballistic on the BW stars for supporting their kids would make me a hypocrite....not otherwise...
Nepotism was started in BW by them , claims this video https://youtu.be/24n3sC6j89M
