Paid PR and Herd Mentality has hurt Bollywood: KJO - Page 8

I like the first half of some of his movies for the humour; K3G, KHNH, MNIK but even the best thing about them- the screenplay is not his. Niranjan Iyengar ought to get more credit.

Nothing redeemable about SOTY and Ghost stories. His segment wasn't the worst part of that anthology. I cracked up at the Lions/Loins scene.

Right. I meant KJo should turn to books for stories because I don't know if he can be honest enough to be good writer ever. But for most other people, what you said is 💯. My writing mentor always tells me this. Doesn't matter what genre, you need to make time to read. Inspiration can be as vague as the feeling inspired by a poem, but it needs to come from somewhere.

I watched the writers roundtable with Masand. IIRC, only Hirani's writer was happy with his pay and general situation.

Kjo wanted to make stars out of his nepokids but there have been no superstars post Hrithik Roshan..whatever potential RK had, people like Imitiaz and Kjo end up hurting..You need stars like Prabhas or Allu or Soorya to make those pan indian successes..I dont think there was anything much to write home about RRR or KGF story..its all been there and done it storyline and premises..Stars and technical finesse made the difference..like those SLB movies

Not in the way reading can. Movies are a visual medium. All the work is done for you. You just observe it, literally. With books no matter what you have to rely on your own imagination to “see” the story unfold.

As much as this young generation doesn't want to admit but for all the independence and freedom from family life and cry about horrible relatives, most of this generation is lonely and they feel happy when they see genuine bond among families.
