If you treat a creative work like a 9 to 5 mechanical job, I guess this was bound to be the result. Since he has no passion for the craft, it's better he stuck to those dumb movies he usually makes.

The director is also saying he shot the whole movie in 100 days, which in of itself seems like a short time. But how is it that the titular character of the movie took less than half that time?

Akshay got a lot of trolling from bragging about this 40 days thing during trailer launch. I don’t know why the director decided to bring it up again on Kapil’s show. Unless this was his way of throwing Akshay under the bus he was already under.

Agree he made a joke of an important historical character by completing it in 42 days. a movie of this magnitude deserved more dedication and hard work than just picking a sword up and mouthing dialogues mechanically. at least 7 to 8 months dedication. The directors are to scared of him to tell him 42 days is not enough as he should spend more time getting the character of a king right and practise more rehearsal.
