Sorry if you felt hurt koms,I didn't intend to offend. but I felt like some things are traditional, including roles of people in houses. In no way did I mean to imply that not doing this means that a region or a culture is better, or the people more emancipated in any way. It's like saying people in some places fast on karva chauth. They don't in the south., That doesn't mean one is better than the other.

Gender roles can and do vary with region, and I was trying to understand why i had never seen this happen around me, and I've seen very patriarchal families too.

I did mention too, that if not this, we will surely have something else that wives are expected to do.

So, there was no judgement in that observation I made.
