My thoughts are slightly different. The uniqueness in Arylie comes from Aryan Singh Rathore's character. I don't think ITV has EVER had such a 'progressive', truly feminist male lead that is not blind to his surroundings. He does not have that ingrained misogyny that comes free with ML's on ITV.
Aryan is a breath of fresh air and that makes Arylie so lovely. A partnership of equals is always lovely.
Not to take away from their chemistry but just another persepctive.
I agree with you! for me, what makes arylie special is really aryan. imlie is mostly meh to me. there are times when I find her amusing and at other times, I want to slap her because she gets on my nerves. 😂
more than anything, I really enjoy that aryan is so level headed.
in regards to sia's question, there are lots of OTPs I have enjoyed over the years from various dramas and movies in different languages. to be honest, am very selective when it comes to fangirling. there has to be something more than chemistry. it mostly boils down to team work and emotional honesty. also, no patience for rhona dhona characters.
the last couple that I absolutely fell in love with was from kdrama "bossam - steal the fate" -- it is 20 episodes and superbly well acted historical drama. cinematography and OST was fantastic.
the plot synopsis: bossam was a custom in the Joseon period, in which a bachelor wrapped up a widow in a blanket at night and made her his wife. Ba-woo (the male lead) makes money as the middle man who does the muscle work of kidnapping willing widows from their house. basically the groom pays Ba-woo to 'kidnap' the widow to make it acceptable for her to remarry. this custom changes the fate of Ba-woo when he mistakenly kidnaps Yi Su-kyeong, the King's widowed daughter.
the drama is also a bit of an outlier in that the PD went old school and didn't have any kiss. there was not even a "I love you" but this was a romance where it didn't need to be said. two mature individuals who have been through a lot in life and understood how the other feels with just one word -- her calling him by his name (as opposed to something more formal) and he pulling her in for a quiet hug. gah, the feels! 🥰
