Mirroring Couples

I'm sure everyone loved today's episode as much as I did and rewatching the scenes again and again like me 😆

If anyone's watched the Tamil/Telugu movie called OK Kanmani, they would relate to my musings here.

Today after watching Arylie scenes, for some reason I was so badly reminded of the scene in the movie where Ganapathy searches for his suddenly missing wife, Bhavani, who has Alzheimer's disease.

And when they find each other, the utter relief they have, it was so heart-touching, same like the bone-crushing hug and the relief that followed for Aryan and Imlie. The tenderness in both scenes.❤️

There are so many classic couples that one might get reminded looking at Arylie.

For me, Ganapathy and Bhavani are one such.

As Leela Samson describes, the actress who potrayed Bhavani,

They’re different, but devoted to each other. I love the romance in it. Love is total faith and surrender. It’s also about the fragile nature of life. Being there for each other.

That's what Aryan and Imlie are, different in their ways but same in their nature.

G & B were all about always being their for partner, loving them unconditionally when they are hardest to love, an inseparable bond. G loved B for who she really was, completely accepting her passion for music and a true companion in her growth.

Today's Arylie scene wonderfully portrayed and cemented the beautiful bond that they have and the utmost concern they have for each other. Just as the other couple, Aryan and Imlie are each other's support system, 50-50 partners forever with each accepting and knowing the other for who they really are. And now I'm looking forward to see this parallel of how Aryan will support Imlie completely to help her grow and fulfill her amibition.

I'll stop my gushing now lest I never can when it comes to Arylie. 😆

They made a remake of OK Kanmani in Hindi too.. it’s titled “OK Jaanu”. Naseeruddun shah and Leela samson played these characters.

ive been watching ITV for almost 15 years and i've seen A LOT of couples.

these two are the be all and end all i think.

Their hug was just so so beautiful. It was like both could finally breathe again. Every hug of theirs i think is the best one as compared to the previous one. And then they outdo it in the next one.

For me aryan and imlie are best couple till now.

Last year i was fan of raghav and pallavi.but when i observe keenly these two couples….i have become fan of arlie more.

Reason-this guy is sorted….even he hasn’t got his closure..he never did any stupidity in the name of protecting his family…

Once he started knowing imlie his loyalty and his unwavering trust was always with imlie.

Not like narmada….bin painde ka lota…she started praising joe…but forgot all the good deeds by imlie!

But here aryan nailed it…for him its only imlie..no matter if she failed to reach before joe….

For aryan its only imlie….his loyalty he has proved always…

The same with imlie.The day she decided to negotiate for AKT by marrying aru…she was fully devoted to this relationship…doesn’t matter love is there or not…

For me it's Prem and Poonam. The movie Vivah has always been one of those Hindi movies I would not mind watching any time. Because, Prem was that character who touched my heart with his selfless love for Poonam and Poonam for the way she sacrificed herself to save her stepmother who hated her. Prem and Poonam were engaged and 2days before their marriage, a fire breaks out at Poonam's house and she gets heavily burnt in the attempt to save her stepmother. The doctor informs her father that in such cases, even families disown their own. Prem, who gets to know about the mishap, arrives at the hospital, determined to marry Poonam. He marries her informally before her surgery. When in yesterday's Arylie scene Aryan told Imlie never to hide her pain from him, he reminded me the scene where Prem tells Poonam 'Tumara saara dard mujhe de dho Poonam'. P.S. It's an extended weekend for us here. So, it's busy time. But, couldn't resist logging in, after reading your post Sia. Such selfless and true love is rare to find and so, didn't want to miss being part of a beautiful thread.❤️

My thoughts are slightly different. The uniqueness in Arylie comes from Aryan Singh Rathore's character. I don't think ITV has EVER had such a 'progressive', truly feminist male lead that is not blind to his surroundings. He does not have that ingrained misogyny that comes free with ML's on ITV.

Aryan is a breath of fresh air and that makes Arylie so lovely. A partnership of equals is always lovely.

Not to take away from their chemistry but just another persepctive.
