After reading your post, I never realized about Raj the way you wrote. Probably because I was a kid when I watched ddlj. I remembered Raj was a flirt, an irresponsible man who wasted his father's hard earned money. He used to be so annoying during the Europe trip and I am surprised a gal like Simran fell in love with him. I remember I found that scene so disgusting when he lied to Simran that she had sex with him when she was drunk. That was not something to be joked about with any gal. He deserved a slap from her and not a hug but then after he fell in love with her there was a 360 degree change in his character. After reaching India he first asked Simran if she loves him or not. After she said yes then only he decided to impress her father. As it was a 90s movie they showed all about how Indian traditions and parents approval are necessary for a young couple to marry.

During the 90s Bollywood used to make even worst misogynistic movies so unke saamne this movie was a gem and Raj was the best hero ever. 🤣
