Congratulations on your milestone! I have truly loved reading all of these ficklets and enjoyed reading about Anuj’s true love for Anupamaa and her overcoming her past with his love. It was not a wonder that sleep refused to visit her. Tomorrow was a big day. The dance competition was very important for her academy and there were a few new students participating in that. They had trained and trained so hard for the past week and yet today two of her students had forgotten their steps. Being who she was, she couldn't help but getting paranoid and the only person who could calm her nerves was snoring beside her. She sighed a little desperately wishing for his arms around her. As she tried to shift closer to him, he stirred a little and fear crept in her heart as she recollected a similar night in the early days of her marriage
Tomorrow was a big day for her. His extended family were visiting them for lunch and Baa had made her responsible for the cooking. Cooking for such a large crowd made her nerves shake and she couldn't sleep. She tossed and turned in the bed trying to push out the fear from her brain when a loud voice interrupted her
"Can't you stay still, woman?"
"Woh... the lunch..."
"A man comes home tired out from office. If you cannot please him and provide him some moments of peace I don't understand what you are there for. Now stop cribbing and let me sleep in peace."
She had never dared to voice out her fears ever again.
Silently, so as to not disturb him, she got up from the bed and opened the doors to the balcony adjoining their room. Leaning on the rails she took a deep breath and gazed at night sky. Suddenly she felt a gentle pressure on her shoulders and a whiff of his manly cologne hit her senses. He gently massaged her shoulders and her neck. She closed her eyes and leaned back on his frame to give him better access. His arms worked magic and she felt herself relax in his embrace.
"Couldn't sleep?"
"Mmmm..."
"Nervous because of the dance competition?"
"Hmmm... uh?"
Her eyes snapped open and she turned her neck looking at him surprised.
"What?"
"How did you...?"
"Anu... Don't you remember... I know you better than I know myself?"
She simply nodded. He gently placed his arms on her waist and pulled her closer to him. Using his other hand, he slowly placed her head back on his left shoulder. Placing a soft kiss on the top of her head, he nuzzled her right neck with his nose and papmered them with small wet kisses.
"Anujjjjj...."
He brought his mouth close to her ears and gently kissed her earlobe and whispered
"It's going to be alright... I promise...."
She raised her hands and grazed gently on his cheeks.
"Mmmmm.... if you say so..."
"I know so..."
His arms on her waist slowly dropped lower and started tracing patterns along her navel. She moaned in pleasure
"Anujjjj.... mmmmm... morreee...."
"Of course... Your wish my command...."
Saying so, he scooped her up and took her to their bed. She smiled, her worries all gone for she knew tonight she would sleep better than ever.
