it's a novel - I found it fascinating. It's sort of like a Turkish version of the italian novel "Name of the Rose"

I've definitely eaten things that look like Google images that come up - the one that looks like a thick daal or Del's pic which was more like a rice dish. But I've not heard it called that? Maybe the phonetic sound is different?
Kichdi is a very simple dish for every occasion.. Beemaron ke liye bhi theek hai.. gourmet dish bhi ho sakti hai with appropriate side dishes..
It’s a rice and moong dal dish.. It's made all over India with region-specific changes.
Well this is what I found - and it's annoying because it seems JIJAJI is being treated like a God (which is the last thing he needs, to have his delusion of divinity validated🤢). Maybe he did a tandav afterwards to work off some of the calories...

They did do pooja of jamaisa and treated him like a divinity because apparently son-in-laws are devta saman🙄
Iced tea is a very Southern thing here in the US - so when I think of it, I think of weak brewed tea with tons of sugar and mint leaves🤢
It's cloying and horrible. But your version might be something different.

This forum really needs the 🤢 or the 🤔 reaction emoticons.
I wonder if there are any matriarchal cultures where daughters in law are treated like divinity...

Probably not, matriarchal cultures would be too sensible and grounded to get up delusional things like that. 😂
