Imlie has NEVER understood anyone's actions, because she was raised by a mother and naani who were willing and able to say anything and everything on their minds. So Imlie grew up saying what she thought all the time -- see the really funny Imlie for the first 100 or so episodes we had when she first showed up in Delhi, and how she never could figure out how Aditya's actions/inactions reflected his love for her.

This is definitely the core difference between the two of them.

I think the other core difference is that Imlie thinks her self-respect is tied up with the respect of her family, and those she sees as family. But Aryan is truly an individual to his core. Sure, he will die for his family, but he never, esp. when he knows Narmada or Arpita are wrong, would let his family create any self-doubt in him. That's because he has amazing family who would never do that, but if they ever did, he wouldn't tolerate it. He also never lets his family talk him into anything he's seriously not willing to do: Narmada wanting him married off in the first dozen or so episodes with him, Arpita wanting him to be nicer to Imlie, etc. He respects his family's wishes, but he doesn't put his wishes below theirs, he only makes sacrifices that don't insult his self-respect.

While Imlie sees any and all sacrifices she makes for her family/loved ones as examples of her self-respect.

what i'm trying to say is that the two of them DO have self respect, it's just we don't understand Imlie's definition because the people she calls family are such trash. But we DID love her when her self-respect was tied to only two family members: Meethi and Satyakaam, because those two DESERVE all of Imlie's sacrifices. Also Meethi and Satyakaam are the most similar to Arpita/Narmada in that they would tell Imlie to do XYZ, but most of all they tell Imlie to do what makes her happy, what gives her self-confidence and self-respect. They're the family to Imlie that she needs and deserves. but everything went wrong for Imlie the day she decided that these Shitpathis were on the same level as Meethi/Satyakaam.

It's actually second time she bit him ... during PD track also I think she did it .. no wonder for me this time

I think we better see this show with the least expectation as before during his entry with that mindset...

This u say right. Every girl have self respect which include her parents if anyone insult or humiliated parents then the girl must know they r not worth her love n walk but imlie allow T to insult mitthi n sk many times I can't understand what so much good they done to her that they are above all. I have not seen show since starting so may be I don't know 🤷‍♀ but imlie sorry imlie speech during divorce ws said by her only now she's gone back n become same. We call character problem but actually it is cos somehwre people like imlie cnt change in few days. She is not city girl but hungry for love n relationship tag so now she's angry with Aryan n show no emotion for Rathoee family pain n in front of Aryan she defend T (not akt now) but in front of someone she don't allow him to talk bad about Aryan also. She's swinging in between till she find her own answer to why Aryn is forcing her to make choice. Her onlt choice is to tell get lost all I am on my own. Otherwise just marry.

for me it's not even about leniency as much as just an acknowledgement of whether or not she supports aryan in his revenge plot (which she doesn't), a consistent acknowledgement that she at least is attempting to understand this family's pain? it's just unfortunate because imlie's character is so weak (i don't mean her as a person, i mean the way they've written it), she flip flops as much as the other flippers because they've never let her actually be her own real person? it's so weird.

@b: at the foundation of it all, you're 100% right. But since this is itv where logic is far and in between, I feel like I can overlook certain things (particularly for my women who already go through so much shit).

I just found myself still excusing her because she had also been through a near death experience (several actually 🙄) and this whole Adi and T-fam business had completely shocked her. Plus she is still 19/20 so I use that as an excuse for a lot of her flip floppity- but only to an extent.

Sigh - I caved and watched on FF. Can we please have our ASR and Imlie from MC and AKT wedding days back. Where she used her brains a little bit and he used his words a bit more.

This drag fest has really been stretched for more than necessary already. Both are at fault. If it continues like this there will be a point of no return very soon to redeem both of them.

I think Aryan already gave the proof of Adi innocence and just faking in front of Imlie . I don’t think he is kind of a guy who will let the real culprits just go hide.
