That is what I meant too..

Restructuring and reorienting public services, education system and other similar areas.

Reservations in public services and similar spheres of influence could have been short and medium term solutions whereas mandating at least 50 percent enrollment of supposedly "supressed" majority could have been a longer term solution.

And it was not even difficult as article 370 was still in place. It was not like people from other States could sit for exams or avail of reservation and other privileges. Since the overhaul would have been to Kashmiris, for Kashmiris and by Kashmiris, it was absolutely doable. But for that to happen, there had to be genuine intention. All that existed was a purpose and it got succeeded..

Hence the argument that ethnic cleansing happened due to non-representation of "majority" in the mainstream is an absolute hogwash.

Wo hi samajh sakte hai jin par beeti hai. That country has suffered bcoz of the policies of its govts..itne saal USA ke saath aligned rahe..ab jaa Kar kya mila? Good if they r realizing now.

But people in our own country will not realize it. Coz we have the freedom to criticize

It was all discussed in the media. Unless you were living under the rock you couldn't help hearing about it.Now caring about the plight of the victims is another matter altogether. Most people are too busy or are unable to care much about what goes on outside their immediate sphere of influence. And the KPs were not a significant vote bank for any political party to take up their cause then. If politicians are taking up their cause now, it's not because their conscience has suddenly woken up.

As for the generations who came later, it' our job to read up on our history from different sources and form your own opinion. Most text books don't cover recent history. The wounds are still fresh. Somehow reading about Jallianwala Bagh or the Black Hole of Calcutta is tolerable because of the time passed. And the Mughals like it or not are as much Indian as you or me, and are part and parcel of the history of India.

THIS!!!!

I cannot thank you enough for expressing this so beautifully!!!

We keep asking for them to condemn for past actions to show some solidarity, give much needed closure to KPs and other sufferers.

Yet the rogue in their religion keep doing their acts and the genuine one stay silent.

In such instances Leftists look otherways. They suddenly turn blind and silent.

The biggest question is has this movie benefited the society in anyway? Yes, now alot more people know about the plight of Kashmiri Pandits which they didn't know before. But does that ease their pain or changes what they went through?

How can a common man help the Kashmiri Pandits? That's the job of the government and I think they already knew what happened with them. They didn't need a movie to tell them. So if this movie was only made to make profit, then also it's all good.

It doesn't change or effect the lives of any person. But if this movie is being used to spread hate between communities then that's really bad. People making hate speeches after the screening, shouting anti-muslim slogans outside the movie hall. That shit is scary.

You go through any video on YouTube, whether it's about the movie or the real incident, it's filled with hateful comments against Muslims and other religions, and how Hinduism is the greatest religion in the world.

I saw one YouTube comment where a girl told she's a tribal Christian but she supports her Hindu brothers and sisters for what happened with Kashmiri pandits. The replies were filled with everyone telling her how her religion sucks and she needs to come back to Hinduism, because those are her roots, or that they don't need her support because she's a product of conversion.

If this movie is going to create more division between religions, then it would've been better if this film had never released.

Better words were never spoken, especially the highlighted part.

Finally the Kashmiri Hindus's pain got justice.

No, it did not get JUSTICE, it got wide-spread acknowledgement.

For getting justice, this isn't the right movie (if ever a movie could give justice). That would be the diligent work of non-biaised historians.

Some of these posts are super problematic. Stop trying to sugarcoat things. Islamic terrorism was the main reason KPs left their houses overnight. Call it out as it is instead of coming across as an apologist. You wouldn’t not release a movie about genocide because omg it might cause a maulvi to get upset. For those saying this movie was better off not releasing - I’ve had actual conversations with people who lived in Punjab/Bombay at the time and they were CLUELESS about what happened to the KPs until watching this movie. Please try and remember the whole world doesn’t exist on Twitter. How do you stop history from repeating itself without educating people?

Let’s stop this nonsense rhetoric of “I saw one comment that read this..”, or “This one specific theatre had someone sloganeering”. What’s your point? We know fringe groups exist on both ends of the spectrum - right and left. I-F has a constant habit of pulling out troll comments to prove their point SMH.

"sugarcoat things"???!!! In the contrary!

Yet - as far as I'm concerned - your view of "some of these posts" isn't my problem...I just detect a language sadly too much used and a lack of understanding what really is expressed in the posts you find problematic...

How can I understand when your post above is basically gibberish?
