When was the right time to release TheKashmirFiles?

Someone mentioned in the movie review thread that Modi is using suffering of KP for political gain in the upcoming elections. I didn't want to drag political discussions in that thread, so I'm asking here when the film should have been released.

Also to my knowledge, this year elections were held from the 14th February to 7th March in four states (UP, Punjab, Goa, Manipur, and Uttarakhand). TheKashmirFiles was released on March 11th. According to my knowledge, the next elections in HP and Gujurat will be held in November-December. So, which upcoming state elections did Modi try to influence by promoting TKF?

The larger question is whether or not the film, which does not whitewash the culprits or sympathise with their acts or exaggerate the victims' suffering, by telling a story as it is should have been released at all and what's wrong if its being promoted?

Had courts not refused to see the pain of KPs and not rejected pleas, movie itself wouldn't have been made.

Suppression of truth for more than 30 decades is a crime in itself and there is no right or wrong time for release of a movie trying to simply show what actually happened with KPs

also because Tashkent files and Lal Bahadur Shastri jis death is a less known issue compared to what happened to Kashmiri Hindus.

We need such historical tragedies to be shown and talked about. Our history books don't even mention (in clarity) of such tragedies, in fact acts like Emergency or Operation Blue Star are omitted from the books.

One common emotion after watching The Kashmir Files has been "Hame pata hi nahin tha!" That makes one angry ki itna sab hua to kyon nahin pata tha?

At the same there is one more opinion that says The Kashmir Files is just Tip of Iceberg, Genocide was far worse.

All the kids are studying is how Mughals saved India…

I have a lot of Kashmiri pandit friends, my school had a 30% quota reserved for them, I have heard first hand experiences of both KPs and Sikhs - my dad is a Punjabi…

We Indian citizens are as responsible as the Govt.

Gandhi was killed by a Maharashtrian Brahmin, my mom is one… she wasn’t born then, my maama and maasi were toddlers. My naanaji’s house was burnt down by a mob, his non brahmin friends saved the family… I’ve heard these first hand experiences too…

True.. we have been told so many first hand experiences by the sufferers which aren't there in school curriculum.

I think there should be independent review of our educational-history books. I don't understand this justification that dark periods/events should not be in curriculum, History should be told as it is.

Damn sorry to hear about that!. We only know about a Maharashtrian Brahmin killing Gandhi but what followed is no where mentioned the violence committed by Gandhi supporters on Maharashtrian Brahmin would not be mentioned. Its rightly said history is not grounded in facts, rather it's the winners' interpretation of them that prevails.
