“Main is Ghar Ko Chhod Kar Chali jaaungi Aur Kabhi Nahin Laut Ke aaungi”. This statement still haunts Shiva to this day. It has been 3 months since Raavi has left, this house and inevitably him. She left with her head held high, taking her bleeding heart with her. It hurt seeing her leave not even bothering to spar a single glance to his way. When she had said the words he didn't know how to react. He had no clue what to do or say, he could only hold his throbbing head, as he watched her walk away. This constant imagery continues to play in his head again & again. He is unable to wipe the scene clean from his mind, how could he? When it kept on replaying in his nightmares.
He wanted to stop her, but he couldn't. All the evidence was pointing against her at that time. And it still is. Only this time he wasn't sure. He has tried imagining all possibilities, convincing himself that he would indeed, never see her again. But the thought of it makes him feel the same way he did when she left and he creases his brows.
When she had confession her love to him half consciously as they drove home, he was stunned. His heart skipped a beat. He couldn't believe that she loved him. Him, junglee, tel masale ki boo vala Shiva. She loves him, not Dev not one of her gentleman friends but him. How happy he was at that moment. But that all come crashing down as they step inside the house. How can he believe her love when she herself signed the divorce papers when she along with her sister were the reason that Dhara bhabi couldn't have a child. How can he trust her when he was being charged with domestic violence. So when she had screamed her love for him in front of the whole family, he dismissed her quickly not believing a word, ignoring the hurt in her eyes.
He missed her. Her animated conversation on random yet uninhibited topics. Her twinkling eyes when she spoke and her contagious laughter. Her smart and witty remarks. The way 'she' would catch him off guard, making him feel and think in ways 'he' never imagined. And most of all, the feeling he received whenever 'she' would be in the same room as him. Their entertaining disagreements, which was usually followed by them falling silent both lost in thought. He kept his mouth shut when his mother uttered nonsense because his pain had clouded his thoughts. But the pain he was going through now was much worse.
His heart cries out all of those memories to be. And most of all, he misses feeling her in his arms, as he would hold on to her unconsciously in his sleep. Even if it was only for a brief moment. He misses the feeling of not jarring and falling to pieces every time at the thought that she was gone. He missed her company, her loud voice and her hot breath. He misses her smile, her laugh and all the times when 'she' would tease him. He misses her warm company, her tight hugs whenever she came across a lizard and her cold hands. He misses her.
After 3 months, he was still not used to the silence. This feeling of being lost and alone. This constant desire. He was used to the joyous spirit. He kept on wanting. He wanted her. He wanted her company. He wanted her voice. He wanted her comfort. He wanted her touch. He wanted to sleep with his arms around her and feel her smooth hair on his face. He missed the love of his life. The woman who he had known for all his life. The woman who had chosen to be with him even he wasn't perfect like she was. The woman whom he had fallen in love with. The woman who meant the world to him.
The first month after she left was the hardest. The incessant thoughts of her draped over him. The picture of her lying in his arms, her eyes smiling at him. And him hoping. Hoping that she would return. And yet. And yet she didn't. There was no trace of her anywhere. The only time he felt she was near was when he saw her in his dream. But now even in his dreams, he couldn't find her. It was unbearable. So with a heavy heart, he decided to visit Maami's house, only to find out that she was never there in the first place. This got him worried so he continue the search for his wife. Sorry EX-WIFE. He decided to look domestically first before he accepted the fact that she had left forever and probably did want to see his face.
It wasn't like she was actually missing, people did see her around town. She just didn't want to be seen by him. By now, he has started to recover from the pain & the emptiness. But the thoughts of him making the mistake of giving in to his lonely weakness of wanting to meet her scared him.
An audible tick sound snapped Shiva out of his thoughts, as he stands up from his place on the stairs and walks to the freshen up when he noticed the clock struck 6. Guess that's his cue to leave for the store. Another day of pretending that Raavi's leaving has no effect on him whatsoever.
Moving out of the bathroom, he looked at the empty angan. Krish had disappeared yet again to goes knows where in the middle of the night not even noticing Shiva on the stairs. But Shiva didn't stop him, cause he didn't care to.
Staring into nothingness Shiva thought about the day when everything came crashing down..........
“Thik Hai”, Raavi announced, stopping Suman mid-rant.
“Kya....?”, Suman let out confused, not understanding what this markundi gaay was meant. She looked at her third son who also looked confused yet scared like he knew what was coming next.
“Main is Ghar Ko Chhod Kar Chali jaaungi Aur Kabhi Nahin Laut Ke aaungi”, Raavi declared openly with fire in her eyes, alarming Shiva as he finally looked up locking eyes with his wife. While her statement shocked the entire family as well.
“Yeh kya keh rahi hain tu, Raavi?!”, Dhara shrieked. She can't believe what she had just heard.
“Sahi to keh rahi hoon main, Dhara Di”, Raavi asserted monotonously, her blank face not letting any emotion seep through. She was determined and no amount of mindless pleading or guilt-tripping was going to change her mind. “Yahan rahakar khud ki aur insult hone do?”
Gautam looked at the stunned expression of his wife, the determined look on his little sister and the hurt look on his 2nd youngest brother. The Raavi in front of them was not the same Raavi they knew. Maybe Maa's words had finally left a mark that it shouldn't have. “Raavi tujhe pata hai na Maa kaisi hai woh toh bas...”
“Aah, Gaumbi yeh to kya bol raha hai?!” Suman interrupted, her voice loud and clear.
“Kya galat kaha Maine? Achcha hai ki ya panoti khud se hi ja rahi hai, varna main khud isse Ghar se bahar nikal Deti Hai”, she continued, not caring about the venom she uttered. “Pata nahi kya konsa Paap Kiye tha humne jo Baba Somnath nai iss manhoos ko hamare ghar le aaye. Jab Se grahan ban kar aayi hai tab se ghar aur mere bete ke zindagi mein kuch na kuch khand hue hai”
Suman hurt words caused Shiva to visibly flinch. He looked down unable to witness the scene before him. It hurt him when people badmouthed his Raavi, especially when that person was his own mother. But how could he stop her, when the woman he loves herself has accused him of domestic violence. With what right could he stop his mother when his love might have conspired with her evil sister and harmed Dhara Bhabhi's baby. They were no more husband and wife. She was not his anymore. So with what right can he stop his mother.
“Hai kaki, apke hisab se duniya mein saari problems ki jad main hi hoon”, Raavi declared. Suman's words had garnered various reactions from the family members, but Raavi was the only one who looked like she didn't care. But Shiva knew that his mothers words had affected her deeply. Though he didn't think she would answer her back.
“Yaha tak ki global warming bhi meri hi vajah se hua hai”, Raavi resumed, putting on her brave face.
“Global warmer? yah to kya bol rahi hai?”, Suman uttered confused not understanding what Raavi was going on about.
“Rahne do kaki, yeh aapki samajh se bahar hai”, Raavi countered as she rolled her eyes.
“Tu mera apamaan kar rahi hai?!”, Suman yelled out offended yet stunned.
“Aap se hi sikha hai, kaki”, Raavi answered nonchalantly.
“Tu....”
“Anyways, mujhe yahan aur ruk kar apna aur timewaste nahi karna”, Rsavi interrupted before Suman could start another annoying rant. Turning to look at Gaumbi ignoring Suman's dumbfounded expression she continued, “Gaumbi kya aap ek taxi bula sakte ho? Vo bags thoda jyada hai na rickshaw main fit nahi hogaye”,
“Raavi tu...”
“Dhara di mujhe iss topic par aur baat nahi karni”, Raavi said in a full and final tone before walking to hers and....oh sorry not her's anymore coz from today it would be just Shiva's room.
As Shiva peeked longingly at her retreating figure. The thought about what had just transpired. Her words had hit hard. Oh how he longed to hold on to her and never let go especially when he knew he was on the brink of losing her. He could never imagine that their relationship would end like this. He loved her so much. He wanted to do more things for her to make her happy. What now he was doing the exact opposite.
While Raavi packed her bags, she thought about her words. She had never answered back to Suman kaki before this even when she sprouted vile words at her for weeks. She had insulted her every step of the way. But now no more. Raavi was done now for good.
15 minutes later Raavi emerged from the bedroom with her bags. Shiva saw her with a sad look on her face and kept silent when she walked passed him with a broken heart. He kept staring at her retreating figure in hopes that she will turn around and he could get a final glimpse of his love but his wish remained unanswered as she walked out of the house with giving him even a passing glance. As she drove away in the taxi without looking back he sighed. But little did he know Raavi did look back a last time but as soon as she saw him, she silently turned her face away. She was gone for about an hour when it hit him. She left. She was finally done with him and his family. She finally had enough of him.
Shiva came out of his flashback when he heard footsteps approaching him. He turned around to see Dhara bhabhi approaching him.
“Shiva tu uth gaya?! Achchha hai. Chal ab jaldi se haath-munh dholaee, tab tak main nashta laga deti hun,” Dhara said before reaching for the empty water jug on their entryway table.
Shiva looked at Dhara, who he felt had become was extremely irritable with her constant pestering, and his thoughts were anything but friendly at the moment. Was it so hard to just leave him alone as he had asked?
Shiva cleared his throat and looked at Dhara before answering. "Nahi Dhara Bhabhi mujhe bhook nahi hai", he said with a long drawn out voice and before he could turn away.
Dhara sighed, this has been going on for three months. Even since Raavi left Shiva looked like a ghost. The worst was his behaviour during work. When huge money negotiations were going on, he seemed not to care a thing about it and that worried her. Not even once had he grabbed a calculator in hand and started calculating figures like he normally would. On that day he had mainly kept himself busy zoning out, from what she has heard from her husband. The store was his life. No one loved it as much as him. Dhara shook her head in disbelief, she had never seen her devar so cold before.
“Shiva, bas ab bahut ho gaya. Yah Tumhari sehat ke liye bilkul theek nahin hai. Agar to kuchh nahin khaega toh to bimar pad jaega. Apane sehat ke lie nahin to hamaare parivaar ke lie khana kha lo. Kya to apne parivaar ko bhi khona chahte hai? Hum Sab tujh se bahut pyar karte hain aur tujhe khona nahi chahte. Please nashta kar lo"
Shiva looked into her pleading eyes. He knew she was right. She loves him, that's why she is so worried. He felt empty. He was left alone with his wife's words ringing in his head constantly. His anger out-numbered his love but either way, she wasn't here anymore. It was like she had taken a huge part of him with her. No matter what show he put on the ache in his heart won't subside.
“Kam se kam ek bite to kha lo, Shiva. Tumane kal se nahin khaaya hai", Dhara implored once again when she got no answer from him.
“Ae, bhagodi ki beti, mere bete ko Pareshan karna band kar. Uska Jab man karega vo kha lega”, Suman scolded as she emerges from her room in her wheelchair, noticing the tense atmosphere. She glanced at her favourite son only to notice him was staring blankly at her. She has not seen her son smile for months. It felt like that markundi gaay took Shiva with her and all that was left was this empty shell of a person. This was all that kagadi ki bhatiji's fault!
Shiva just ignored his mother and walked off to the kitchen. He picked up the kettle and placed it on the gas to make tea in hopes to cure his raging headache. He tried had out many recipes but none of them were able to capture the essence that Raavi's tea had. While the water was heating up he heard a commotion coming from the angan, but didn't bother paying attention to it thinking that it was just everyday drama.
He continued to stare at the water heating up in the kettle. Still not feeling hungry and not being able to see an end to this pain, When suddenly he heard a sentence that shook him...
"AAE MARKUNDI GAAY?! Tu Yahan yaha kya kar rahi hai!"

A/N: So that was it for the 3rd chapter. I know that it has been a while since I have updated but let's just say I had a writers-block. Since this was originally supposed to be an OS I wasn't sure where I wanted this fic to go. Raavi leaving made sense but at the same time, it doesn't. Coz Raavi has never been the one to give up on her love. People's harsh words don't make affect her since the only one that matters is Shiva and her love for him. And him rebuking her is not a big deal in her eyes since that's how their relationship has been since day one. The only difference is that they are now married.
Shiva hurt also makes sense since being accused of domestic violence is not a small thing that can be brushed off easily or be ignored. I know that Shiva's behaviour has disappointed a lot of viewers, but I would blame him coz it's entirely the writer's fault. They failed to show us, Shiva's POV in this whole situation causing him to come off as the bad guy. Shiva has always been a person who hides his hurt with a facade of indifference when the reality is completely different. Also, people wouldn't condemn him as much if the writers wouldn't have dragged this track for soooo long.
One of the main reasons that ShiVi has made no progress in their relationship ship is their families. And I am a strong believer that they would thrive if it wasn't for their nosy families. I will probably end this fic in the next chapter or 2. Coz unlike the writers I have no pleasure in dragging this fic. And I hope I did justice to Shiva's character pov and didn't make it too melodramatic.
Anyway, I will end my rant on this note that we might get ShiVi remarried real soon, and we will finally get Raavi's breakdown today (One of the reasons why I am still up and writing this chapter). Even though I don't trust the writing capacity of PS writers one bit I am going to keep my hopes up.
Just read all the parts.
It is amazing.
Awesome. Please update the next part soon.
I am glad you liked it ❤️😳

Thank you ❤️. I will try my best to update the soonest 😊
Just read all three chapters, and loved it. ❤️
I love that Raavi's now thinking about herself.
Raavi walking away is the best thing ever, and I really hope Shiva suffers for all that he's done.
Looking forward to the next one.
P.s. I agree about Shiva's hurt regarding the domestic violence charges, but the fact is that he was violent towards her during the IVF kaand. So a lot us actually felt the charges were justified. Unfortunately, Shiva was shown that way on the show. Had they skipped the IVF kaand, everyone would have agreed with Shiva being hurt and angry.
