Outsiders like DP, aish, anushka, PC had a lot of media appreciation. They worked with big production houses, in their mega projects , with high profile stars. They became high profile themselves and always stood their own against BW creme-de-la-creme. Yami mostly does low budget hum-drum movies, with low profile actors . I dont think this is an outsider/insider issue. She is just not that big of a star. But the good thing is she acknowledges that and has decided to look beyond it.

I kind of disagree, but not entirely. Yes, you make it big you will be acknowledged. But this still is an outsider insider issue because insiders don’t need to make anything to get acknowledged.

Yami has done some big movies. Kaabil, Bhoot Police, Uri, Badlapur which got a lot of hype and attention at the time. As others have said, Yami needs a better PR and one that puts her face out there. And that is an unfortunate indictment on the industry where PR is more important than work and talent.

All that being said, A Thursday has gotten attention and some hype. So despite all that for her to get ignored is probably what hurts her more. Hence her response here.

Some of those hits happen to be Yami's. Not getting acknowledged is the issue. She needs better PR for sure. DP and Alia can give tips probably 😆.

OTOH, she seems a normal person, so she might not be comfortable using those tactics. But then, she's in the wrong industry for normal.
