Awww man that was so beautiful. And their conversation at the end was perfect.

Consider Sunder's POV maybe for a future story?

T party Slowly moving from team adi_lie to team arylie 🤭🤭

Rupi is good first candidate... She was the first to be team adilie also...

I like it when someone stops pretending all is good or can be good and opens their eyes to the truth staring at their face.

Sunder, Imlie’s Best Friend and Bandar

Sundar had always liked Imlie. They had a weird kinship with each other. One Sundar had found without even intending to.

Imlie was like a breath of fresh air.

The thing about Imlie was that she did everything for the people she loved. Sometimes it was for people who deserve it. Sometimes people didn’t deserve the things she did for them. Most of the time people didn’t deserve what Imlie did for them.

For a while he had believed that Aditya deserved Imlie. That Aditya was the one who understood what Imlie was capable of, what her potential was, what she could achieve and what she could do.

He had thought Aditya knew what Imlie was.

Then Aditya proved him wrong.

Aditya gave the worst kind of betrayal to Imlie ever.

The cracks in their relationship were slowly unwrapping since a long time ago. He had once heard Aditya say that Imlie could never outshine him, never surpass him. He had seen how Aditya never believed what Imlie had to say. He had seen how once Malini got pregnant, Aditya thought only of his child and not the woman, Imlie, who he was asking to be a mother of the child that was her husband’s and not her own. That had been conceived when he was still married to her. He had seen how Aditya took the side of his child’s mother over the woman he loved. He saw how Aditya looked away from Imlie when it came to his child. He saw how Aditya questioned Imlie, and how his blames and accusations made Imlie leave the house.

Yes, Aditya had done a lot for Imlie.

But Sundar believed that if Aditya had not been in the picture, then too Imlie would have achieved all she had. Yes, Aditya brought Imlie from her village to this city, but he believed Imlie capable enough to have found her way on her own. Yes, Aditya saved Imlie from many problems, but Imlie too saved Aditya many times.

However, Imlie could have lived without all the insults, beratings, accusations and betrayals. She could have lived without being a maid with how smart she was. She could have lived without the judgement passed on her for marrying a guy richer than her. She could have lived without the hate that this family served her in their anger.

And then he heard about The Aryan Singh Rathore.

Imlie’s boss.

Imlie’s mentor.

Imlie’s friend.

Imlie’s special friend.

Imlie’s lover.

Imlie’s boyfriend.

Imlie’s fiance.

No one actually knew their label.

Sundar never understood why they needed a label.

He was just Imlie’s... Imlie’s.

The first time he saw them together, he noticed that Imlie begrudgingly respected the man, even though she hated him.

And she did.

He saw how he pushed Imlie. Pushed and pushed and pushed. And then pulled back when he could see she was about to break.

During the wedding from hell, he witnessed a thousand moments in which Aryan Singh Rathore forced Imlie to do her job. He witnessed Aryan asking Imlie to stop crying. He witnessed Imlie listening to what Aryan was saying. He witnessed Imlie pull herself straight and stand in the face of the insults and taunts raining down upon her.

He witnessed Aryan stand firm, in front of Imlie, shielding her from everything she didn’t deserve.

Good.

Imlie deserves someone standing up for her.

But he also knew Imlie would never move on from Aditya.

For the first time, Sundar did not feel any pain about being proven wrong.

Sundar felt a burst of hope rush through him when he first saw Aryan&Imlie.

It was after they came from Pagdandiya, after they were beaten up and thrown from the house.

After Imlie saved them.

After Imlie came to live with them.

After the Rathores followed.

But that day, that day Sundar watched as Aryan came late to the house. He saw how he was rubbing his hand all over his face. He saw how tired Aryan was. And then he saw Imlie. She came out of her room and sat over beside Aryan. Aryan barely noticed her. He kept his hand on his face, neither acknowledging Imlie, nor getting up to go to his room.

But Imlie had rarely allowed anyone any silence. She began, “Kaa hua? Thak gaye?(What happened? Tired?)”

Aryan sighed, took off his hand from his face and turned to look at her, his eyes showing exasperation for Imlie. Imlie laughed at his expression, and then leaned sideways on the sofa. She rested her elbow against the sofa and turned to face Aryan. She then wiggled her eyebrows at him and Aryan just accepted with a little disbelieving shake of his head.

Just like that.

No fight.

No argument.

No reprimand.

Sundar knew for a fact that these two fought a lot. Some would say that they fought more than they talked. But he had witnessed their fights too.

He watched as Imlie’s face shed off all her amusement and in all seriousness she asked him, “Sab theek rahe?(Is everything fine?)”

And he too leaned back his head on the back of her sofa and replied, “Sab theek hai.(Everything is fine.)”

Imlie smiled and replied, “Je fire! Toh Malini Didi ko bharosa ho gaye rahe, ki tum ab---(That’s fire! So Malini Did believes you now, that you---)”

But before she could continue, Aryan shushed her by keeping a finger over her lips. Imlie’s eyes widened in surprise at his action. She hurriedly bit off his finger to make him take it away from her.

Aryan, affronted, removed his finger from near her lips and exclaimed, “Jungli!”

Imlie too replied, “ABP!”

Aryan sighed then said, “Yahan nahi, kahin aur iss baare mein baat karenge.(Not here, let’s talk about this someplace else.)”

Imlie nodded at his solemn gaze and agreed, “Theek hai.(Okay.)”

And then they shifted into comfortable silence.

But what astounded Sundar was that Aryan leaned back and rested his head back, closing his eyes, but Imlie, her head still supported by her hand, kept watching Aryan.

At least until Aryan asked, “Kya hua?(What happened?)”

Imlie stole her gaze away from him and looked down in her lap. She then looked back up at him and exclaimed, “Kabhi kabhi humka laagat hai ki tum humri madad sirf apan neeji maqsad ke khaatir karat ho.(Sometimes, I feel that you are only helping me because of your own hidden motives.)”

Aryan looked at Imlie and replied, “Tumhe sahi lagta hai.(You feel right.)”

But then Imlie continued, "Par kabhi kabhi hum kaa lagat hai ki tum humri madad isiliye bhi karat ho kyunki woh hum rahe, jon tumse madad maange hai.(But sometimes, I feel that you help me because it is I, who asks you for help.)”

And Sundar felt more than saw the loaded silence between them at Imlie’s unasked questions.

Was whatever Aryan was helping Imlie with, purely for his own motives, or does Imlie matters to him enough that she would ask and that would be enough for help.

And Sundar also realised that Aryan was helping Imlie with something, he trusted Imlie for something, he took Imlie’s help for something.

Sundar didn’t need to know what something was, but there was something and they were not fighting the problem in their own ways, they were fighting as Aryan&Imlie.

That was all he wanted Imlie to have.

Somebody to lean on.

And then Aryan turned to look at Imlie and answered her unanswered question, “Tumhe yeh bhi sahi lagta hai.(You feel right about this too.)”

Imlie paused then, all her body went stiff. She was flabbergasted. And that, that made Sundar realise that she saw what Aryan did for her. She saw what Aryan kept doing for her. That right there was what made clear to Sundar that Imlie felt for Aryan, and she was having a hard time figuring out what it was.

Sundar watched as Imlie looked at Aryan in disbelief. Sundar watched as Aryan looked at Imlie matter of factly.

They were Aryan&Imlie. And it suddenly felt inevitable.

Even if they weren’t aware of it or weren’t ready to face it.

Having seen enough, he turned around, only to find Arpita there. She too was looking behind him. When she saw him, they exchanged a look.

Okay, he wasn’t alone in seeing Aryan&Imlie.

🤗

Aaaaahhh, you updated. This is so good. Sundar is definitely one of those folks who is pretty perceptive, his one liners in show give interesting insights.

So it was really nice to read his thoughts on Aryan&Imlie. Also good to know Adi's thoughts on Imlie and her success, was this true to the show? Because if so then boy is this guy Toxic. Good Riddance..

Go Sundar Gooooooo!!!!!

You did it! I love it love it love it!

I'm SO glad you did a Sundar POV. Their friendship is so sweet and he's been such a genuine friend to Imlie that his feelings regarding her pain, her moving on, her falling in love would have shown such depth on TV. And since we aren't going to get anything close to that, what you have written is GOLD.
